News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Queerview television guide: October 26

Until now, Trauma has left us waiting to learn which of the series' San Francisco paramedics would be gay. The wait ends tonight as they deal with Halloween revelries.

But first, the big wedding day is coming to Llanview, and Fish is still unhappy to see Kyle a part of the protest. Be sure to join us as we liveblog the action starting at 2PM Eastern

The Oprah Winfrey Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Nate Berkus joins Oprah and Gayle go to check out the Texas State Fair and visit the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. With TNT looking to revive Dallas and TV episodes profiling Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, I'm wondering if I need to double-check the calendar.

One Life to Live (ABC) Check local lisitings
With the way soap opera time runs, I'm guessing we'll be spending a week talking about the big mass wedding/protest as various characters bring their 'pros and cons' lists to Kyle and Dorian one last time, starting today with Fish teling Kyle not to go through with the vows.

Gossip Girl (CW) 9:000 PM EDT
While Blair and Chuck are still dealing with last week's mankiss, this week is supposed to also see a test of Jenny and Eric's friendship, thanks to the demands of being Queen Bee. Usually, we don't get more than a few fleeting glimpses of Eric when he appears, hopefully that'll go differently when he's got a story.

Trauma (NBC) 9:00 PM EDT
Hm, so the episode where Trauma reveals its gay character happens during Halloween? I know there's a very good chance I'm setting myself up fo rdisappointment, but I wonder if the episode will deal with San Francisco's -- and the Castro district in particular -- issues with the holiday.

Chelsea Lately (E!) 11:00 PM EDT
Staff homosexual Guy Branum joins the panel tonight as Chelsea chats with American Idol finalist Brooke White.

The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (NBC) 11:35 PM EDT
She may have feared being banned by Conan, but gay-fave Kathy Griffin will be visiting to chat tonight.

Daytime Preview for Tuesday, October 27

The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Martha Wash visits with Wendy today to perform the gay anthem "It's Raining Men".

The Young and the Restless (CBS) Check local listings
That's right, Y&R didn't completely forget that there are gays in Genoa City, as Adam admits his history with Rafe to Sharon.

Nick can't stop thinking about Oliver

My TiVo show description for Wed's OLTL episode is "Nick can't stop thinking about Oliver."

That sounds interesting...unless of course they meant to put Kyle.

    *-----------*

It really doesn't get any more adorkable than this: Video

    Can't wait for trauma

Can't wait for trauma tonight. It's slowly getting better and become must watch for me. Though we still need much less Boone and Blonde Girl.

Any word on Southland? I heard there should be an announcement this week regarding TNT. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure to loose a few "gay points" on my Gay Acceptance Card

...but what is "San Francisco's -- and the Castro district in particular -- issues with the [Halloween] holiday?

    I have to admit...

...I'm clueless as to what is meant by this as well.

we don't celebrate holloween anymore in San Francisco!

being the biggest street party in the Castro district (even bigger that the street party around gay pride - {Pink Saturday} which believe me - is REALLY BIG)... there have been lots of violence since becaming the premier party event of the year (some say sparked by rival straight gangs from around the city - where's the gay mafia when you need 'em!?!?) .

organizers can't seem to manage the event.  even when it was heavily guarded by sf police (specially after 2002 whewn 4 people got stabbed), still in 2006 nine people got wounded when someone opened fired  on the street.  my friends and i just missed it by 15 minutes! thank god my friend got tired of the overwhelming people on the streets and wanted to leave early!

up to this day around holloween police are out in force making sure no holloween street parties are ever held again in Castro.

    Thanks Markie27

That's what I was thinking about... I think it'd make great material for a show like Trauma. I mean, how do you care for someone injured in a crowd that size? That has to add a lot of challenges. And considering how some people see the Halloween partygoers as out-of-town people coming to gawk at the gays partying, that could bring up a "gay" issue to come out over.

    DALLAS

Wait just one cotton-pickin minute!! What does ANYONE here know about Dallas being revived!?!?!?!?!

    I must know!

    Lyle Masaki's picture

    Not much to know...

...for now. Right now it's a pilot at TNT focusing on the next generation of Ewings with producers trying to lure the original cast members.

    Holy Crap

This could be awesome.  I've already sent TNT an email asking for more information.  I will seriously be over-the-moon if they do this!

Adam already told Sharon both on Friday and much more explicitly today!

I am happy that **** revealed himself as gay EMT!

Trauma's Halloween episode is best! Tyler outed himself to Cameron who thought that Tyler is "straight guy" with sideburns as they ride together for three years, but Tyler don't bother to tell him about his lifestyle until Halloween.  Now Carmen said that they better move on...  I hope that Trauma better keep  Tyler until finale or NBC will lost gay viewers!

    Flaming Queens

Rather a high percentage of drag queens in this episode.  And all outrageous. And all the wigs looked highly flammmable.   Not really what the Castro looks like for Halloween- except for lots of nuns.  Lots of cowboys, indians, policemen and sailors though....

    Aime-mois moins, mais aime-moi longtemps

    Joseph's picture

    That minor detail aside

I thought it was a very good episode of Trauma; in fact, their best yet.

I don't know if anybody else noticed it, but the writers corresponded Tyler coming out to the homophobic Boone with the story of the little "Lost Boy" with the arguing parents (dad was played by The Trip's Larry Sullivan) and his being "saved" by a fairy (in this case, Diana dressed up as Tinkerbell).

Is AE gonna do a blog post or article on this episode? It was terrific.
