Queerview television guide: the Weekend of September 11

This weekend's gay TV picks include more fashion designers in the spotlight on Sundance's The Day Before documentaries, a True Blood marathon leading into the second season finale and Ari battling over Lloyd on Entourage.

And it all begins with a Friday that includes the pursuit of Sergei on One Life to Live as well as talk show appearances for gay-faves Kathy Griffin and Janice Dickinson. Be sure to join us when we liveblog the action on OLTL starting at 2PM Eastern!

Friday

The Wendy Williams Show
Oh boy, Friday, Soup-fodder and camera-awkward Wendy Williams chats with that always-interesting and uncensored Janice Dickinson. This certainly promises to get interesting.

One Life to Live (ABC) Check local listings
Star continues to be held by Sergei as Fish continues to work at the support desk. Meanwhile, Stacy gets the results of her pregnancy test. Apparently, my patience for this Star-in-jeopardy story is wearing on me because even Stacy is looking like a good break.

Just to keep you from going through too much Kyle withdrawal

Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) 10:00 PM EDT
The always-outspoken Kathy Griffin visits Real Time this week... and if you need more reason to tune in the guest list also includes snick's pick for the AfterElton Hot 100, veterans' advocate Paul Rieckhoff.

The Day Before (Sundance) 10:00 PM EDT
Sundance's Fashion Week documentary moves on to follow what Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough go through to get their show to happen.

Saturday

True Blood marathon (HBO2) starting at 4:00 PM EDT
If you missed any episodes from early in the season, HBO2 is rerunning the first eight episodes of this season in advance of Sunday's season finale.

The Day Before (Sundance) 10:00 PM EDT
Fendi's creative director Karl Lagerfeld is the focus of the next installment of Sundance's look at Fashion Week stresses.

Sit Down, Shut Up (Fox) Midnight EDT
In case you feel like you were missing out when the heavily-panned animated comedy (with stereotype-enforcing bisexual teacher Andrew LeGustambos) was taken of the air with unaired episodes, Fox is burning off one of those episodes after a Spike Feresten rerun. I guess they're hoping people will watch when the only other major competition is an SNL rerun?

Sunday

True Blood marathon (HBO2) starting at 2:00 PM EDT
HBO2 wraps up its prep for the season finale with the remaining five episodes of season two.

Big Brother (CBS) 8:00 PM EDT
I was looking forward to Kevin and Jordan's final battle to determine the season's last Head of Household, but that will have to wait until Tuesday's finale. Instead, tonight's episode will feature highlights from the past season. While you're waiting for something to happen, why not add your voice to which finalist should receive America's vote.

Big Brother's Kevin

True Blood (HBO) 9:00 PM EDT
As Maryann plots her final, bloody sacrifice things really get crazy in Bon Temps and Sam makes a last try to save Sookie.

Hung (HBO) 10:00 PM EDT
Label-avoiding Damon gets some story in the first season finale as one slowing relationship (Payton perhaps?) has him turning to his sister for comfort.

Entourage (HBO) 10:30 PM EDT
Lloyd becomes the focus of a turf war between Ari and a rival agent. After Ari steals away Zac Efron, his rival threatens to steal Lloyd away with an offer to be an agent without any hazing.
