Queerview television guide: September 16

It's meet the parents time in Llanview as Oliver Fish decide to surprise their son with an early visit. We're so thrilled to have something to discuss other than hostage-taking drug dealers, we'll be following the action with a liveblog, so be sure to join us starting at 2 PM Eastern with a finger on the F5 key!

And tonight, Will becomes an "acafella" on Glee, and over on Bravo, Top Chef opts for desert-themed challenges to go with the Las Vegas setting.

There may be a good reason for Ma and Pa Fish to show up early as today their son also receives a commendation for his participation in the crisis Sergei created. (Presumably, there will be parental declarations of pride followed by awkward looks from Oliver.) Hopefully, that will mean we can move past this story, save for hospital angst and seeing Todd look beat up.

As the world Turns (CBS) Check local listings
Today is going to offer a bit of Luke as he realizes that Lily and Damien are growing closer. I'd bemoan the lack of story for Luke but it's not like Noah's story is working any better.

The Beautiful Life (CW) 9:00 PM EDT
Unfortunately, the only gays in the CW's new fashion industry soap is a tired, offensive stereotype and a cameo by Zac Posen. Hopefully, that will change as the series goes on, especially since the gay-friendly Ashton Kutcher is an executive producer.

Glee (Fox) 9:00 PM EDT
For some reason, glee club advisor Will adds to his schedule by forming an all-male acapella group (I know, acapella is not the word you wanted to follow Will and "all-male"). That, unsurprisingly, eats into his Glee club time, leaving them to go out and hire themselves a choreographer.

Top Chef (Bravo) 10:00 PM EDT
My TV was saved from being yelled at last week when Ash survived the elimination round, which means we get to see him try to cook with cactus this week (I guess that means I shouldn't hold out for a season of Top Chef: Santa Fe anytime soon) and try to prepare a meal over an open flame for some Vegas cowboys.

Chelsea Lately (E!) 11:00 PM EDT
Tonight it's Ross Mathews turn to be on the panel as Chelsea chats with Nelly Furtado.

Daytime Preview for Thursday, September 10

The Tyra Banks Show (syndicated) Check local listings
As part of Tyra taking a look at plastic surgery horrors, like people who tried to give themselves silicone injections, Tyra will be talking to the cast of Addicted to Beauty.
