News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Queerview television guide for August 24

God's Christian Warriors (CNN) 9:00 PM EDT
Christiane Amanpour takes a look at the collision of religion and politics in this three-part documentary. The final chapter, airing tonight, is a look at conservative Christian activists who have taken anti-gay activism as one of their major battles. Nothing terribly new, but a good reminder of how badly these "warriors" want to see us disappear. (Check out our full review for more.)

Who Wants to be a Superhero? (Sci-Fi Channel) 9:00 PM EDT
In a challenge where the two encounter creepy crawly things like snakes and spiders, one of the heroes lets out a frightened scream. Will that scream turn out to be from out contestant Parthenon, as the ads suggest? And, if so, how badly will Stan Lee hold it against him?

Shameless (Sundance Channel) 11:00 PM EDT
In case you missed any episodes of this twisted but unconventionally sweet British series about a family consisting of six kids, an alcoholic father and an absent mother, the Sundance Channel is airing the beginning of the first season once again. Gay teen Ian Gallagher gets a lot of focus in the series, especially his affair with a Muslim store owner.
