"Torchwood: Children of Earth" coming in July

It's been the subject of speculation and rumors but we finally have an idea of when we'll get to see Torchwood's third season, as BBC America's "Coming Soon" page lists the series as airing in July.

The third season, titled "Children of Earth" will tell a single story over five consecutive nights. I have to admit, my feelings towards Torchwood have long been pretty mixed, but I'm looking forward to seeing John Barrowman play Captain Jack Harkness once more and getting to see more of his romance with Ianto (Gareth David-Lloyd). Series creator Russell T. Davies, meanwhile, has written most of the season which should promise a strong story.

Right now the only news that could make me more excited is if a US air date for Davies' final three Doctor Who specials were announced (with Barrowman returning for a final adventure with the tenth Doctor). I'm really starting to feel the need for a Who fix.

    Don't forget the radio plays.

There will be three new Torchwood radio plays broadcast before T:COE airs in July.  Details in the forum.

    Christmas special and others

Has the most recent Christmas special entitled "The Next Doctor" already aired here in the US? I wasn't too big a fan of it but a lot of my friends seemed to like it.

I also just saw the Easter special, "Planet of the Dead" and it was AMAZING!!! I absolutely loved it! And I cannot wait, and am dreading, the final two adventures of David Tennant as the tenth Doctor. Hope they're worth it and I'm hoping Matt Smith will do well as the eleventh Doctor.

    So far...

None of the specials have aired in the US. Usually SciFi airs the Christmas special in the summer before they start the new season but with no full season, it sounds like SyFy hasn't announced any plans to air DW... or, even, the second season of Sara Jane.

The BBC was going to do a worldwide simulcast of TW:COE in June. Guess that's not going to happen. I hear Australia won't get it until July either.

And,no,"Planet of the Dead" hasn't aired here yet. Still waiting for it.

Russell Tovey will also come back for David Tennant`s last episode of DW,really looking forward to it!

The last two DW specials were just OK for me,hopefully the next few (and new season of Torchwood) will be better.

    Finally

I can't wait. I was hoping for June, but I can wait. I just hope they're going to make it a week long like what BBC will be doing and not show one episode over a 5 week period.

Speaking of Doctor Who, Jack will be back on the show too.
