RuPaul's Drag U
I noticed at the end of Drag U, when the "biological women" commented on what they would be taking away from this experience, they were all dressed in the clothes they arrived in. Perhaps I've been naive in thinking that there was more to this show than an attempt to cash in on the popularity of RuPaul's Drag Race, but I expected actual results or lessons the participants could immediately apply to their every day lives.
While I certainly wouldn't expect them to leave the show in their drag attire, I'd have hoped they left in something better than the schlubby clothes and plain hair they started with. There is nothing to show that following this experience they had applied anything they learned at Drag U.
I realize that I'm speaking of superficial things, but isn't the show promoting the idea of bringing your inner beauty to the surface?
