Spoiler: "True Blood"'s Gonna Do Bad Things To...

***Warning*** This post discusses an upcoming plot point on HBO's True Blood.

Okay, this won't come as a surprise to fans of the books, but since I haven't actually read them yet, when I got the August episode descriptions from HBO, I had no idea what was in store for poor Talbot. 

And even if I had known Talbot was going to die, given that Lafayette was supposed to be dead at the end of the first season, I still wouldn't have known about this particular death.

Here are the episode descriptions with the info. Note: I'm only including the relevant info so as to not spoil anything else.

Episode #33:  “Everything Is Broken”

A grief-stricken Russell vows revenge against his foes, vampire and human. 

And then we have: 

Episode #34:  “I Smell a Rat”

After communing with Talbot (Theo Alexander), Russell promises to extract vengeance on his enemies.

So it looks like we are going to lose Talbot after all and it's going to spur Russell to do some pretty violent things. While I hate to lose Talbot, at least on a show like True Blood, where there is more than one gay character, it's not like there is suddenly no 'mos to follow. 

I don't know how Talbot dies or if the show will stick close to the books, but I hope his death at least has a purpose and I especially like the idea of Russell somehow communing with Talbot.
