AfterElton.com Readers Name Best TV Show and Best Gay Couple of the Decade!

Will Truman and Jack McFarland in Will & Grace, Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer in As the World Turns

To mark the end of the Aughts, we gave readers the chance to name who or what they felt had the biggest impact over the past ten years in a variety of pop culture areas. Today we announce the most influential gay show and the best gay couple of the decade!

Best Show For Gay Visibility: Will & Grace

Given all the grief lobbed in the direction of Will & Grace — Jack was supposedly too campy, the show was afraid to let Will have a relationship for years while Grace went through men like disposable batteries — the fact is the show is a landmark in gay visibility and gay folks clearly recognize that.

Best Gay Couple: Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer

While As the World Turns will soon be gone due to its cancellation and One Life to Live's Kish is the hot new thing on our televisions, it's nice to see that soaps first gay supercouple is clearly not forgotten. Not only did "Nuke", as Luke and Noah are frequently known, trounce their daytime competition on One Life to Live, but they also handily beat out the beloved Janto from Torchwood. In fact, if you combine Janto's votes with Kish's, Nuke still wins by 15%!
