ABC on Dropping Adam Lambert: "We Decided Not to Move Forward at This Time"

Yesterday Adam Lambert tweeted that ABC had dropped his appearances on both Jimmy Kimmel Live! and New Year's Rockin' Eve. Lambert said not to blame ABC and that the network's actions were due to pressure from the Federal Communications Commission. Lambert didn't specify what that pressure might be or why NBC was still planning on having the rocker appear on Jay Leno despite said FCC pressure.

Trying to get an explanation for the actions, AfterElton.com got in touch with ABC and asked the following questions:

Does ABC have an official statement as to why Lambert was dropped from Jimmy Kimmel Live! and New Year's Rockin' Eve?

What pressure was applied by the FCC to cause ABC to drop his appearances?

What does the network say to charges that Adam has been blacklisted from ABC?

Who at ABC made the decision to drop Adam from Jimmy Kimmel and the New Year's Rockin' Eve?

An ABC spokesperson responded saying, "We decided not to move forward with the booking at this time."

Pressed for answers to the rest of the questions or whether or not  there was someone else at ABC who could answer them, AfterElton.com was told the above answer was all that the network had to say on the matter.

Lambert is still scheduled to appear on Barbara Walter's upcoming special which is pre-recorded and wouldn't have had Lambert performing anyway. While it would be inaccurate to say Lambert has been blacklisted from the network entirely, ABC apparently has no intentions of letting him perform any time soon.
