  • Happy Birthday heavy metal rock god Rob Halford!
  • Summer night be over, but thanks to Miley Cyrus and these gay guys, it's not too late for this year's "Walking on Sunshine." This is what summer should be about!

  • Looks like Melrose Place's executive producer Todd Slavkin not only didn't heed my advice that yet another female "try-sexual" character was tired and offensive, but now he's also deemed MP as being part of a new sexual revolution that is "Kind of post-AIDS—where the boundaries are off." I guess we won't be looking to MP for any sort of redeeming social value. Bwa-ha-ha!
  • James St. James checked out the 2009 Ovahness Ball and filed this report.
  • The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Dan Savage's Savage Love column might be coming to HBO. Woo hoo! Dan's first letter is reportedly from a gay short order cook in Louisiana who writes that he is finding himself attracted to a vampire who is hung up on someone else's girlfriend, but is still giving off signs he's interested in him as well. Dear, dear, dear...

    Dr. phil doesn't have a medical degree? whaaaat?

    i don't care who he brings on his show. I dont think many people take him seriously.

    I'm sure even Oprah wonders what the hell she was thinking by 'discovering' him

    ...hasn't got any kind of education in law, politics or sociology and most of his career was as a radio host but millions of right-wingers think he's one of the greatest socio-political sages of all time.

    Middle America doesn't like their "thinkers" to be all that intellectual. It's all about that preference for "common sense".

    that article is spinning, mentioning that he doesn't have a medical degree.  of course not -- psychologists get Ph.Ds (a non-medical degree).  only psychiatrists get MDs.  it's really a bit intellectually dishonest of the author. 

    although personally, i'm not a huge fan of dr. mcgraw, myself.  his show is one part therapy, 9 parts springer.  he's not really trying to help people; he's exposing them to ridicule for entertainment purposes. 

    as for oprah... well, i think dr. phil was just the beginning of her slow downward spiral.  The Secret, anyone?

    A PhD in Psychology from the University of North Texas does in fact make him a Doctor of Psychology, commonly known as a psychologist.

    A similar medical degree would make him a psychiatrist.  Totally different mental health profession.

    Man, somebody looks GREAT to be only about 3 years from 50 years old! It's refreshing to not see a photoshopped 25 year old for the briefs picture, I must admit.....and Baz looks fantastic!!

    The boys are cute and the video editing well-done but surely they could have found a better song from say, Beyonce, Kelly, Gaga, Katy Perry, Christina or even friggin' Britney rather than this melody-free crap that's been AutoTuned to death?

    And honestly, guys, you listen to Miley Cyrus? Really?

    I absolutely love Dan Savage, and while his column is brilliant, there is something particularly addicting about him on camera.

    ...Oh wait, I barely have a TV, much less cable.  Looks like I'll have to find a way to work around that little problem.

    It is impossible to measure the importance of Rob Halford, both in the LGBTQ and metal worlds.  Judas Priest is one of the most influential heavy rock bands of all time, and the fact that their popularity was in no way diminished when he came out shows that even something as seemingly Dominant Hetero Male as metal can be inclusive.  He also beats down that stereotype of the fashion-obsessed, mincing gay man that so many idiots choose to believe in.  He is the first big, out metal star, and that effing MATTERS.

    Oh, and he's going to be in a hilarious-looking game called Brutal Legend, which comes out in October.  :D
