Great Job!
Cheers to another great vlog. You guys are so frickin' cute I can hardly take it. Okay, enough flattery. I absolutely love what is going on in Battlestar Galactica. But I agree, they need to really pick up the pace, as far as the story is concerned. There's not that much time left.
Fragments was a great episode. I'm an idiot, I totally missed the point of Ianto's desperation to get into the Cardiff branch. Tosh's story was the most enjoyable for me. If you watch Torchwood, you cannot miss the season finale. I repeat: you cannot miss the season finale. Cheers to James Marsters.
I liked the list. I'm headed over to the website to check out the rest.
Thanks again guys.
You mean "frakking!"
Oh wait one more Torchwood thing!
I love you guys
And I love your Torchwood comments, especially the non-obligatory ones. Don't say those are the last! I want to hear the unedited version! (I've already seen "Exit Wounds," OH I could go on and on). Thank you for including Tosh on your geek list.
I really hope the BBC puts forward some official word on series 3; they're really the only ones who haven't confirmed it. RTD, the actors, the writers, everyone is waiting for series 3! And in the meanwhile John Barrowman is singing his heart out all over the UK (and will be in Toronto this summer to judge the Canadian "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?") and GDL is singing and showing up at conventions (Dragon*Con and ComicCon are confirmed), (and Eve Myles is on Radio Wales hosting a show on boxing, not sure what's up with that) and the window to start filming is moving farther and farther away! *pout*
Even if they greenlit series 3, we have a long wait ahead of us.
Torchwood Season 3
Thanks!
Since you're so up on BBC stuff, I assume you're in the UK.
We'll have to wait even longer for season 3 over here. At least we have Doctor Who and BSG for a while now. Yay!
Are there any other sci-fi/horror/geek British shows right now that we should know about but don't?
I WISH!
I'm not in the UK, although I'm maneuvering a move to Wales in the next couple years (I don't know how, but I'm thinking about it very hard!), but I do have a number of UK friends of a similarly fangirly variety as myself.
Nothing new has come up recently; in the wake of Torchwood, other than Doctor Who, my friends and I have mostly been following shows like Skins and Gavin & Stacey (more people need to see G&S, incidentally; it's very funny and is cowritten and costarring Ruth Jones, from "Adrift"), although those are also coming to a close for the year. Another show the BBC is being annoyingly mute about is "Being Human," a pilot they aired mid-February, starring Russell Tovey (I shall repeat for posterity what I've been shouting all over LiveJournal: Alonzo Frame for companion, please! I think I might have said the same here last week, but who cares).
The current Brit TV-scape is a lot of documentaries (like a recent one with Stephen Fry, on the printing press), reality and game shows.
You may have noticed that BBC America is picking up Primeval this summer (which is odd, because it airs on ITV), which is fun for watching dinosaurs, although full of plot holes and quite 'wtf?' So there's that. I can let you know if anything interesting peeks through the clouds.
I'm all about the Telly...!
I've been a big fan of brit tv for the last year or so. It started with the gay storyline on Hollyoaks, followed quickly by Shameless and then Skins...The Doctor Who and Torchwood obsession after that. I was lucky enough to get onto a great UK torrent site and the rest is history. I just have to say that Being Human MUST come back. I loved the pilot. Russell Tovey along with Ciaran Griffiths (Mickey on Shameless) are my current favorite tv obsessions. I haven't watched Gavin and Stacey yet, but its been on my list for a while. I'll have to take your suggestion and get on it!
Now, about Torchwood. I watched Exit Wounds and thought it was great...this, after totally bashing the last 5 eps of the Torch. The thing that really bugs me is that this should have been the SECOND episode of the season. The first and last eps were by far the best. Most of the middle was just filler. Why not keep the intensity up from the beginning on? There really wasn't a larger story arc going on through the season, just a bunch of one-offs. "Meat"??? Give me a fricking break!! I'd like to see a 3rd season, but they really need to embrace a larger storyline and push some emotional boundaries.
I said I would
let you know if anything came up: the best I can do right now is follow-up that Being Human has been picked up for a full run in 2009.

The article seems to suggest that the casting may change, which I really hope doesn't happen. (The other show they mention, I am unfamiliar with.)
BSG Baltar and pseudo Baltar
As to Baltar seeing himself:
- This Pseudo-Baltar is dressed very similar to the pseudo-Baltar that Caprica Six saw and is probably seeing. [An aside: the show never explained how Baltar originally survived the Nuclear blast that destroyed his house and killed Caprica Six's body. Yet, somehow Baltar "survived"? This is similar too Kara Thrace's situation where everyone saw her actually die and has somehow come back]
- The fact that Caprica Six and Baltar are seeing the same pseudo-Baltar indicates that there has to be a central server information source that is transmitting these "visitations".
- Before Kara Thrace "died" she had a "vision" of "Leoben" who claimed not be "Leoben". Still this does count as a BSG "vision".
- Therefore, I say that Kara's and Baltar's experiences can be placed in the same catagory.
- The current KARA THRACE must either be a Cylon who has been resurrected OR she has to be a virtual image simulation along the lines of Baltar's Hallucinations of Six and Six's Hallucinations of Baltar except everyone can see and interact with Kara. This could also explain some of the preview spoilers which show Kara interacting with a Cylon Hybrid where the Hybrid reacts to Kara in a way that no one has before Cylon or not. THIS WOULD ALSO EXPLAIN THAT EPISODE IN SEASON 1 WHERE SIX APPARENTLY MATERIALIZED OUT OF NO WHERE TO SCARE BALTAR TO DEATH BY BLOWING THE WHISTLE ON HIS GENOCIDAL TREASON. EVERYONE SAW AND INTERACTED WITH SIX AS THOUGH SHE WAS REAL AND THEN SHE APPARENTLY VANISHED INTO THIN AIR. So this theory of mine is not without precendence.
My point is the same one I've made in the past. Everyone is a Cylon. Humanity was wiped out a long time ago. All the events in this series are an elaborate, staged "performance" by what the Cylons refer to as "God". "God" is probably the originating "Singularity Artificial Intelligence" that evolved all the Cylon AIs we see on the show now. Kara never visited earth, she was made privy to information about earth that this Cylon "God" has. All of the impossible coincidences that happened on the show cannot be coincidences; they have to be staged events. Obviously, the final five Cylons were programed to activate the second the Colonial Fleet reached that Nebula. It can't be a coincidence that the Colonial Fleet found "Kobol" or that they found that planet with the temple in "The Eye of Jupiter".
Yeah, I really like Season 4 so far. I love the Cylon coup with Six/Natalie. This coming episode should be really good as we find out how Natalie and her insurrectionist escape the ambush. I really love Tricia Helfer's performances of her different incarnations. In my opinion, each one feels distinct and a somewhat different personality.
And NO, I didn't need to see Dean Stockwell naked coming out of the Resurrection tank.
Has everyone forgotten HERA?
One subplot that has apparently been dropped is Hera. It was all the big deal when Sharon(Helo's toaster) was having her baby. The Cylons wanted to possess Hera. Now? Not so much. What about the evil, gross Gyno-Clinic that Starbuck was being experimented on for the purpose of finding out how to breed with humans? Why was it so important to the Cylons? If they can make 12 Cylon models, they can make a million models. What difference does it make? And really, this not-being-able-to-breed thing is kind of stupid. Wouldn't testing for infertility been a good cylon detector, even if they would have occasionally gotten a few false positives? And, if the cylons can clone humans so well, WHY are they infertile?
I really hope they haven't dropped this plot point. Of course, the points I made in the previous post don't mesh well with the breeding experiments. But they work perfectly if they drop the Hera plotline and the Breeding Experiments. Either way, there may be a gigantic plot hole you can drive a Battlestar through.
I think the kid is coming back soon...
HA! DRUSILLA'S MAKING A COMEBACK!

The woman in shadow HAS to be Drusilla. Buffy Issue 17!!!
Great vlog!
Great vlog guys. A few things:
-On the disaperring Six: I dont think she materialized, she was one Six within the fleet , just like Gina. As of how they vanished, because the three we know as DAnna also did, maybe they go out of an airlock and wait to get picked up or die and get reborn.
-On fertility: Cylons are not infertile perse, Athena had a baby and Galen fathered one, but they can only do it with a human. So I think, on theory, the pipes work well but they need something like "the spark of life" to concive.
-On Hera: I was asking myself the same question, since now we know the Chief is a cylon and his son is a hybrid. Does that mean the importance of Hera deminishes or that they are both going to be important? Anyhow, that plot was given a lot of time the last two seasons so I dont think they will just drop it.
-On Baltar: Still unclear about that one. But since we know he is not the "final one" and they have been putting him as a savior, he is going to have a very close role with the one who made the "plan". Which has a lot to do with Starbuck, so Metabaron might be right on track with that one. BTW I dont think she is a cylon, her explanation might have to do with the clinic mentioned. A clone maybe?
You ask about the numbers? There is no coincidence that they are setting up Baltar as a savior, there are 12 models, the spoiler picture in EW was set up as the last supper and there is calice in it. You see?
Finally, it would be such a copout to make everyone a cylon at the end, it would take away so much of the series. Hope its not the case.
On Torchwood.
Nice work around about the spoilers, hope its not the last comments you guys make about it, since a would like to hear whats your take on the whole thing.
BTW, Jenna Jameson, pllluuueeezz.
Love the vlog
Love the vlog, nice to see what you Americans think of our TV (I'm Scottish). Nothing else sci-fi/horror/geek has really come up recently, the best we really have is QI, which is geeky and presented by out Stephen Fry (w00t!). Also, our equivalent of SATs would be either A-levels (which are pure evil) or the IB (International Baccelaureate(sp?))
Also you two are too cute >:(
Geez
I am still meandering my way through the first season of torchwood so the spoilers would not have hurt whatsoever.
is battlestar Galactica really worth it? I've never had the channels those are on so i never actually got into watching it but I'm considering renting the seasons. So really, is it worth it?
BSG IS worth it
