After finding out about his father murdering the mother he thought was dead and Luke nearly getting killed by his father twice (and now he's paralyzed), he gets drunk and kisses Maddie. He quickly realizes what he is doing is wrong and tells Maddie it meant nothing (pretty much like their relationship). Anyway, he feels so guilty about what happened to Luke that he makes plans to leave town. However, Dusty talks him out of it, making him realize how much Luke means to him. That's when Noah goes to Luke's bedside for some probably very emotionally teary scenes.

I realize that paralyzing one member of a new couple is de rigueur for soap operas but that doesn't make me any less pissed off and suspicious at the producers of ATWT. I do not relish the thought of having Luke in recovery for 8 Months of real time while all we get are filler stories and Noah cheating on Luke with some other new guy(without sex of course). I really think that this was the producers way of dodging the consummation issue. I know that the producers have to be aware of the anti-gay religious groups danger but it is still disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I will still strongly follow the Nuke Storyline on Afterelton, it's just that: don't we kind of already know that this relationship is being somewhat scuttled.

^ yeah, er...i don't think this will be happening. don't know where you got 8 months out of the spoilers. TPTB know they have a huge hit on their hands with Nuke.....if they were put on the backburner all of a sudden, they would get some seriiiious angry fanmail. ...also, blogs, etc would be calling them out on it. it would not be pretty. with all that said, i really would not worry if i were you.

I don't think they would scuttle the relationship just to avoid showing the boys having sex. Good grief, they could just "move in together and fade to black as night falls"....you know...over and over. With kisses. I don't think it's a problem. I think they are setting up for lots of soapy high drama as Noah hangs by Luke's bedside while he recovers, while lamely trying to make it look like he will "never walk again" but ignoring the fact that fans are all over the sneak peaks, reviews and interviews with the actors. I guess there are some fans that don't read forums and haven't a clue what will happen the next day! Kind of knowing what's going to happen sort of adds to the fun!

And totally off topic...Roger Howarth went over a cliff and survived as Todd on OLTL and went over a cliff and survived as Paul on ATWT. You'd think these writers could come up with new stuff!!!! I can't believe I'm hooked on another soap after all these years. (don't you think Paul flung Meg awfully hard onto the bed so soon after her receiving a head wound bad enough to render her unconscious for what must have been quite a while? Now, that's something Todd would have done)

 

 

If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

CBS has done an excellent job with this story so far and it only looks like things are going to be more interesting for Luke and Noah. When Noah first debuted five months ago, I couldn't imagine what they were going to do or where they'd go with the story, but they've managed to exceed my expectations, which frankly weren't very high. It's amazing where they have gone and what they've done in a relatively short amount of time. I frankly expected them to still be dragging out the story, with clueless Maddie constantly walking in on yet another sexually intense scene between Luke and Noah and asking what's going on, them making up another lie and so on and so forth. But they've actually gotten past all that, the triangle is over and the show are focusing on the pair as a couple dealing with typical soap fare and that doesn't bother me as I love angst and suffering. I don't expect that Luke will be paralyzed for too long and Van Hansis has already said that Luke and Noah will get through this and emerge from it stronger as a pair. ATWT realizes what a unique and unexpected success they have on their hands so I trust they'll keep up the good work.

I also felt like they decided to paralyze Luke as a way to delay any "intimate"  scenes between our two love birds. It is a soap and I understand the DFS (see Joseph's comment), but I still fell they used it to keep their more conservative viewers from getting the icks.
