Breaking: Fox Says No to "Torchwood"

Depending on whether you were excited to see Fox do an American version of Torchwood or thought it was a travesty, you'll either be very sad or very happy to know that The Hollywood Reporter says Fox declined to open a Torchwood: Fox branch.

A statement from BBC Worldwide reads:

BBC Worldwide Productions and the FOX Broadcasting Company have mutually agreed not to progress together with a 13-episode serialized 'Torchwood' format. We are currently in discussion with several interested networks.

But those of you who want a U.S. remake shouldn't despair entirely as Jane Tranter, BBC Worldwide executive vice president of programming and production, says that Torchwood landing at another network is still certainly a possibility and that "It's very much ongoing and very much alive."
