Michael Jackson dies at age fifty

Multiple sources are reporting that after having suffered a heart attack earlier today at a home he was renting in Los Angeles, pop singer Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50. Arguably once the most famous performer in the world, the superstar faced a wide-ranging array of legal and personal problems in recent years including bankruptcy and several trials on charges of child molestation of which he was acquitted.

He is survived by his three children.

Last June 25, 2009, the world has lost one of the most influential and iconic figures in the music industry. Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance in the afternoon of June 25th, 2009, with symptoms of a heart attack. He passed away soon afterwards. The news of Michael Jackson passing away is troubling, as he was set to begin a comeback and was only 50 years of age. The Jackson family commented soon after he was admitted that he was in bad shape. The King of Pop began his career at a very young age as a member of the Jackson 5, and later had great success as a solo artist, including Thriller – the best selling album of all time - and many thought he'd never need to think of payday lenders again – RIP Michael Jackson.

Sympathy

I'm appalled that on facebook people had already started joking before it was even confirmed, which I personally think is EXTREMELY disrespectful when someone has just died, and as someone who has too often lost close family members and suffered, my heart goes out to his family in this time of need.

Such a Tragedy

I thought Michael Jackson doing all the sold out shows in London would take it's toll on his health. However, I never imagined he would pass away at the age of 50. What a tragedy!

RIP Michael: You will forever be missed

It is a shame that no matter what biography or what is said about MJ,  those child molestation charges will always be there. He will never be able to wash those stains off his life story (though it is important to note that we might never know what REALLY happened).

On the bright side, he made some of the greatest music EVER. I will mourn him and may he finally find peace after a lifetime of craziness. He will always be missed like Elvis, and he was taken too young. Good luck trying to find the next King of Pop. They'll never be another like him PERIOD.

Jackson

I've always been one of those who were not totally engrossed in Jackson and his antics much less his music. It was good stuff, not great. Overhyped to no end. That being said, Jackson had talent and was good at entertaining. As someone who is just a tad older than he was it certainly makes one reflect on ones mortality. Especially today with the loss of Farrah also.

Yeah today really sucked!

No Matter What

Michael Jackson was the consummate entertainer. Every male (and many female) pop entertainer today have learned from him and taken his music career as a "how to guide". He set the precedent for how you make a video and how a concert should be performed

Complications of melanin deficiency

"Copper is an essential micronutrient necessary for the hematologic and neurologic systems. Acquired copper deficiency in humans has been described, causing a syndrome similar to the subacute combined degeneration of vitamin B12 deficiency. Ataxia and myelopathy are secondary to acquired copper deficiency. This is ofen resolved by major gastric resection. Bariatric procedures such as gastric bypass surgery result in a similar functional anatomy of the proximal gut .

Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Vol. 30, No. 5, 446-450 (2006)

This (and i may be wrong according to many medical professionals out there) may mean the following: Black man becomes white by depriving his skin of melanin causing melanin deficiency which leads to a collapse of his blood vessels which leads to a breakdown of first:his gastric system causing malnutrition;second:-affects his neurological system (read affects his spine-Back problems?) and finally the heart gave out from the lack of nutrition and extreme effort of pumping into collapsed vessels. Its sort of like the death that happens to diabetes sufferers. All those doctors out there are welcome to disprove me.....

And those persistent lung problems, trypsin, produced in the lungs? Anyway, what do i know, I ain't no medical professional person!!!!And this isn't a theory set in stone!

RIP Michael Jackson

I was not a huge Michael Jackson fan, and I bristled at his oddness.   But some of his stuff was absolutely fantastic.  He was truly, truly blessed with a talent that could not be denied.  It is a shame that along with that talent came some serious issues.  But I guess we all have our crosses to bear don't we?

I'll tell you what though, I will NEVER EVER forget seeing him on the Motown 25th special when he did the moon walk for the first time during Billy Jean!  I can't remember ever being so blown away by any performer before or since.

It's true

It's true that not everyone who is acquitted is actually not guilty, howvever none of us have any idea of Jackson's guilt or innocence. So we definitely can't go around assuming that he is guilty of such a horrible crime.

Innocent until proven guilty, you know, and I think that should apply to people's everyday opinions too, at least to a certain extent.

I still can't believe that

I still can't believe that Micheal Jackson is dead!!

Truely one of, if not the biggest pop star ever in history.

The guy was gifted beyond comprehension...he could dance, sing, write and produce. He was always one step ahead with his video performances, and on stage he just blew you away.

My brother-in-law was a true Micheal Jackson fan with the glove, jacket and moves. He said he heard on the way from work while sitting on the train and he's still in a daze.

There will never be another like Micheal Jackson. Truely shocking!!

His infinite variety

He was always likeable, even at his most outré.  I never got to see him in person, but always looked forward to his appearances on TV and in videos.  Who wasn't charmed by the precociously talented little boy who sang so sweetly and danced like Sammy Davis Jr?  He single-handedly redefined the art of the music video.  To this day, I can hardly surf the channels on my television without seeing "Beat It" or "Billie Jean" or "Smooth Criminal" or one of his many, many hits.  With his passing, we can expect at least one biopic from a major studio.  The only question now is, what three or four actors will they get to play him?

MJ

He never molested anyone, as far as we know. I think he built Neverland Ranch and hung out with so many little boys because he was stripped of his childhood when he entered the music business. He was just trying to experience something he never was really able to. He was LONELY. So sue him.

Despite what happened in his personal life, he was a talented man and inspired many. I, for one, will miss him very much.

The world seems a little bit different now...

Cause of Death

Yahoo is saying now that his death may be a result of complications with prescription pain-killers for dancing-related injuries. Didn't Heath Ledger die a similar way? Whose putting these quacks in charge of prescribing meds?

Michael Jackson is Dead (like forever)

What's the point of bashing him now?

If he was, in fact, guilty of any crime , we'll never actually know and being accused is not the same thing as being guilty. If there was ever an easy target for accusations of every possible sort, it would be someone like Michael Jackson and we know that human beings are not above lying to get money from folks (particulary famous, wealthy folks)

The parents who brought charges against him chose to settle out of court. So it's over and done.

Actual innocent people get accused of crimes and sometimes convicted of crimes (horrible crimes) every day. The justice system and human beings are falliable hence the need for projects like "The Innocence Project", etc.

MJ was such a freakish bizarre human being in his personal life to most people's eyes that he could have been accused of almost anything and people would believe it.

The only people who actuallly know what did or didn't happen between MJ and any children are the people in the room at the time and abuse of children is far too serious of an issue for people to just rely on speculation and gossip and rumors to "convict" someone (regardless of what our own personal experiences with the topic may be)

I could easily believe MJ never touched a child inappropriately but he was clearly mentally challenged in some way and was desperate for attention and maybe felt better able to deal with children than adults. I have no actual idea and neither does anyone else here.

Obviously folks have free will and can choose to believe what they want but that doesn't make something a fact.

The parents of these children (and the children who are now probably adults) chose to move on. At the very least could we let the man be dead for longer than a day before every ugly rumor that was ever spread about him becomes the topic at hand.

No he could't have "been accused of almost anything"

The child molestation accusations didn't come out of thin air. But the story of all that is far too complex to deal with on a site like this. And some people would refuse to believe the truth if it were happening right in front of them.

MJ's Death

Yes this is the sad truth. Everyone is mourning with the death of the King of Pop. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, has made headlines again but this time it isn't happy news. Michael Jackson has been rushed to an LA area hospital, reportedly after having a heart attack. The Jackson family has confirmed that he is in the hospital, and that he is not in good shape. It seemed he was headed for a comeback. He was set to perform a series of concerts in London, which would, if Jackson recovers, get him out of trouble with his debts and put him back on top, and out of need for payday lenders. Michael Jackson was diagnosed in the 90s with vitiligo and lupus, and in the last few years needed some serious debt consolidation.
