Michael Urie does Hamlet, Brent on writing, and Matthew Rhys speaks

What's an actor known for his "light" work to do when he wants to establish his credibility as a "real" actor? Well, if you're Daniel Radcliffe, you get nekkid doing Equus, but if you're not quite that daring there is always Shakespeare's Hamlet! "Credibility! Where art thou, Credibility?" Oh, wait wrong play. So sue me.

Michael Urie's Ugly Betty just signed up to do Hamlet this summer on the Segerstrom Stage at South Coast Repertory in Contra Mesa, California. Hamish Linklater (with a name like that, he was born to do Shakespeare) of The New Adventures of Old Christine is also doing the gig and he gets the title role while Urie will be playing Horatio. No word if the play is being rewritten to give Urie lots of quippy one liners about about Hamlet's abysmal fashion sense or the "ghost's" drastic lack of good skin color.

Ever wondered how an author decides whether something controversial ends up in their book? (Basically, the battle between "art" and "commerce".) Our own Brent Hartinger discusses one such decision he had to make and how it paid off.

Logo announced season two of Noah's Arc hits shelves on June 12th. Noah's creator Patrik-Ian Polk also promises he has some good news about the movie, but won't spill the beans just yet.

I mentioned yesterday that Heroes' writer Bryan Fuller confirmed Zach was supposed to be gay and that his manager pulled him off the show because of it. Fans at Fark.com have plenty to say about the decision and it ain't getting raves!

Here is a pic of me and my friends working out at the gym. (That's me on the right. Oh, shut up.)

Okay, it's really more like this at my YMCA. Sigh.

Finally, here is a cute interview with Matthew Rhys of Brothers & Sisters. It's fun hearing his Welsh accent.
