Reichen's new love interest

A couple of folks wondered where the pictures of Reichen Lehmkuhl and Ryan Barry, his new squeeze who made an appearance together at the GLAAD awards were. Well, here they are along with a couple of more of the almost too pretty to look at Mr. Barry who is a personal trainer, fitness model and philosopher. His MySpace page also includes the words "Cambridge UK PhD Study" and "UCI BA Cog Sciences" under About Me. Make of that you will.

It appears that Lance Bass, who showed up--quelle horreur--dateless at the awards, hadn't known known Reichen would be attending and doing so with a date. Apparently in the monkey tribes of Hollywood, this is an egregious breach of protocol as Lance should have been informed so he could have acquired a boy toy date so as not to lose face by appearing to be a dateless loser while Reichen strutted around as a total stud able to attract hot model gymnast trainers who studied philosophy at Cambridge. Or something.

Seriously, I recently read an article about how there is a whole section of rules in the Now That You're Famous (Probably Undeservedly) Guidebook on Hollywood Etiquette and Understanding Your Place in the Pecking Order devoted to how celebs who have dumped (and been dumped by) other celebs are supposed to attend these events so no one is embarrassed. Well, so no one is embarrassed by someone less powerful, good-looking, wealthy, etc, than they are. I could never survive in that world as I can barely remember to wear a belt with my dress pants much less worry about who I might run into at party. Sheesh!

I actually think it's cool Lance attended solo as the Hollywood posturing thing seems pretty silly.

Sadly, Mr. Barry appears to be a failure in all his ventures as evidenced by these pictures showing he is apparently unable to afford a shirt. Tragic. Truly tragic. (I'm guessing Reichen took him out for that snazzy, new suit.)
