To Make a Long Story Short...Sex and the City, Emmy leak, Cyndi Lauper and more!

  • It sounds like gay fave Sex and the City is actually headed for the big screen. No word yet on how involved SATC's gay creator Darren Star will be or whether Carrie's best gay friend Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson) will make an appearance.
  • Someone leaked the top Emmy contenders in the Best Comedy and Drama categories. The good news is that Ugly Betty made it into the top ten for comedy (five actually get nominated), but Brothers & Sisters didn't make the drama cut.
  • Out Survivor winner and current prison resident Richard Hatch thinks that if Scooter Libby deserves a Presidential commutation, then so does he!
  • Microsoft gazillionaire Bill Gates rides to the rescue of PlanetOut.com (parent company of The Advocate).
  • Out journalist Steve Rothaus interviews out composing Jerry Herman about Mame and Hello, Dolly!
  • The Sundance Channel debuts the U.K. drama Shameless tonight which not only includes a gay character, but sex, obscenity, and full-frontal nudity, oh, my! I'd watch, but I'll be busy watching PBS' Saints Through the Ages.
  • After the jump, check out Cyndi Lauper's terrific video of "All Through The Night" for the HRC's campaign to raise awareness about hate crimes.
