Watch "Park & Recreation"'s gay penguin episode!
So you're sitting at home on a Saturday night with nothing to do and nothing to watch? Well, here's a way to kill 22 minutes! Check out NBC's "Pawnee Zoo" episode of Parks & Recreation. In the episode, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) finds herself caught in the culture wars after she accidentally marries two male penguins. Naturally, the wingnuts of Pawnee will not stand for such depravity. It's pretty funny stuff and the scenes set in the gay bar look like actual gay bars, as opposed to TV's usual warped idea of gay bars.

Funny.... but,
Parks and Recreation
Oh, I don't know... "Derek is gay but he's straight for me but he's gay for Ben and Ben's really gay for Derek and I hate Ben." kind of cracked me up---as did Leslie's response ("The thing about youth culture is---I don't understand it.")
Thanks for posting the link, Michael---I really did like this episode, and am wondering if some of this plot (the idea of people being against Leslie because they think she's a gay activist) will be carried over into future episodes...
Last week's episode of "The Office," (which aired right after this episode of "Parks and Recreation") also had some rather amusing gay content. Let's see if this link works, if anyone wants to check it out as well....

I watched that part twice
That whole "Derek is gay..." part had me in tears! I didn't even follow it all the first time, as I was laughing, so had to hit the rewind to watch again. The fact that she ended the whole thing with "and I hate Ben" was fantastic!
I didn't find this show to be all that funny during season 1, but this episode was great and I hope a sign of good things to come for season 2.
Agree with you on The Office episode too, with Andy questioning his sexuality, that was good stuff.

Thanks for the cute show
"He might not be my gay penguin, but he might be yours." Do they have that on coffee mugs yet?
Being out is not "being an activist." It is being honest. Unfortunately it's such a rare commodity in this world that honesty often seems like activism.
I love that woman.
Bi-Friendly?
Wasn't the episode kind of bi-friendly, too? What with the "straight for her, gay for him" threesome, and Leslie acknowledging that bisexual men do in fact exist while bragging that she got both of their numbers?
Ok, I'm sorry, but...
loved it
