Brothers & Sisters: When Kevin Met Jason--and blew it

Okay, Brothers & Sisters fans (and sadists who like watching really bad blind dates), I just found this YouTube clip from Sunday night's episode wherein Kevin (Matthew Rhys) meets cute disastrously with Jason McCallister (Eric Winter), Senator McCallister's (Rob Lowe) younger, hotter, gay brother. They've been set up by Kitty (Calista Flockhart) who failed to tell the rabidly anti-Republican Kevin just who Jason's big brother happens to be. Bad, Kitty! No catnip for you!

There's no way to predict how this storyline will play out until we learn whether Eric's pilot Viva Laughlin gets picked up. (But I'll trade a half-dozen Flying Monkeys for one kiss between these two. Yes, I'm that shallow!) Until then, watch Kevin annihilate yet one more potential love interest. Oy.

    Yeah, Kevin has this bad syndrome of open mouth and place foot in it. He really should have asked more about Jason before he started spewing what he did to unimpress Jason. But in addition, Jason also didn't know that Kevin is Kitty's brother, because in the sides, Kitty never mentioned it to him either. But anyway, it's unfortunate that the last scene between them was cut out completely. Oh wellz...

     

    Eric Winter's next appearance as Jason McCallister will be in episode 22, entitled Favorite Son.

    Kevin sits at the same coffee shop where he and Todd met. He looks like he's about to face a firing squad. He puts his cell phone to his ear and waits…

    INTERCUT WITH:

    INT. TODD'S PLACE – SAME

    Todd reads the Times with breakfast. His cell phone rings. He thinks he might recognize that number, answers:

    TODD
    Hello?

    KEVIN
    Todd, it's Kevin. Don't hang up.

    TODD
    Okay.

    KEVIN
    I'm at the coffee place. Where we met.

    TODD
    That's... strange...

    KEVIN
    It's my afternoon coffee place. Anyway, I'm sitting here at the scene of the crime, re-living every cringe-inducing moment of our date.

    TODD
    Well, enjoy yourself.

    KEVIN
    Wait, I'm sorry. I had no idea you were his brother. I behaved like a complete fool. So, I just wanted to call up and explain myself.

    TODD
    Listen, Kevin. You're certainly entitled to your opinion. And I would never judge a man based on his take on my brother. I thought you articulated your points fairly well, considering. So honestly, I don't think you're a fool.

    KEVIN
    Really?

    TODD
    But I do think you're a jerk.

    KEVIN
    Wow.

    TODD
    You were honest with me, I thought I'd return the favor. Bye.

    Kevin, stunned for a moment, hangs up. That sure was fun.

    where do you get these sides from? Can everyone read them or just a few people who are selected or something?

    why did they cut this scene? It was fun.

    You can get "sides" which are pages of the script used for auditions for character roles. You can get them from places like Showfax.com or Nowcasting.com or any audition side hosting places for actors.

    We do get a make out scene "with great passion" in an upcoming episode that should air on May 20th if they don't change the schedule or double up on episodes. Sounds like it's going to be hot!

    May 20th is one helluva episode!!! Definitely worth sticking it out to the end to see some interesting revelations. :)
