"Glee", "Modern Family" Score Multiple Writers Guild of America Nominations
WGA nominees Dustin Lance Black and Paris Barclay
The Golden Globe nominations aren't the only noms announced this week. The Writers Guild of America also doled out their nominees on Monday and a number of gay-faves did just fine.
Glee scored for Comedy Series and New Series while Modern Family was tapped for Comedy Series, New Series, and Comedy Episode. Additionally, Pedro, written by out writers Dustin Lance Black and Paris Barclay earned a nomination for Long Form Original along with gay-fave Grey Gardens.
The Daytime Serial nods included both One Life to Live as well as As the World Turns.
Other shows of gay interest receiving nominations included The Daily Show and The Colbert Report both in the Comedy/Variety category, Nurse Jackie for New Series, Mad Men for Drama Series, and 30 Rock and The Office for Comedy Series.
The winners will be handed on February 20th and will hopefully be harbingers of good things for both Glee and Modern Family.
