Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • Hawaii football coach Greg McMackin used a gay slur to describe another team, and then begged reporters not to, well, report on it, because he didn't want "every homosexual ticked off at me". BTW, it's probably best not to read the comments section in the article. *Sigh*
  • Via Joe.My.God. comes an article warning of the dangers of allowing your children to attend any arts and crafts events at Home Depot, lest they turn little Billy into a macrame 'mo.

  • Apropos of nothing, above you can see the extended teaser trailer for the upcoming Tron Legacy, which looks ... freaking fantastic. As someone who spent oodles of quarters on the Tron arcade game, the sight of those laser cycles sent a nostalgic shiver down my spine.
  • Gay reporter sprite Michael Ausiello has details about ABC's attempt to makeover the title character when Ugly Betty returns for season four.

Alan Ball introduces Tru Blood at Comic-Con

  • "Tru Blood - The Beverage" will be hitting store shelves this September. "The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor" and will cost a hefty $16 per four-pack. Hmm ... I think I'll wait for "V Juice - The Beverage".
  • Finally, in wonderful and welcome news, Stuart Milk will accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom on behalf of his uncle Harvey. The award (which is the country's highest civilian honor) will be presented in a White House ceremony on August 12th.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

This guy!
