Cheyenne Jackson at the NYC premiere of Taking Woodstock
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.
Hawaii football coach Greg McMackin used a gay slur to describe another team, and then begged reporters not to, well, report on it, because he didn't want "every homosexual ticked off at me". BTW, it's probably best not to read the comments section in the article. *Sigh*
Via Joe.My.God. comes an article warning of the dangers of allowing your children to attend any arts and crafts events at Home Depot, lest they turn little Billy into a macrame 'mo.
Apropos of nothing, above you can see the extended teaser trailer for the upcoming Tron Legacy, which looks ... freaking fantastic. As someone who spent oodles of quarters on the Tron arcade game, the sight of those laser cycles sent a nostalgic shiver down my spine.
Gay reporter sprite Michael Ausiello has details about ABC's attempt to makeover the title character when Ugly Betty returns for season four.
Alan Ball introduces Tru Blood at Comic-Con
"Tru Blood - The Beverage" will be hitting store shelves this September. "The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor" and will cost a hefty $16 per four-pack. Hmm ... I think I'll wait for "V Juice - The Beverage".
The man suspected of throwing explosives at the World Outgames has been arrested and charged with a hate crime.
Finally, in wonderful and welcome news, Stuart Milk will accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom on behalf of his uncle Harvey. The award (which is the country's highest civilian honor) will be presented in a White House ceremony on August 12th.
How disturbing is it that one thinks you have heard the most ridiculous thing out the wingnuts, but they keep topping themselves. Sigh.
Tron looks amazing!
FYI, the transformation of Betty Suarez is not out of left field, it happens in the original colombian show and it worked well, it did offer some interesting plot points. It remains to be seen if it will work in the US. If you want to make any correlations with Betty La Fea, the show may not have much time, the transformed Betty was about the last third of the shows run, maybe even less.
And thank you for that delightful picture of Mr Jackson!

Really? I didn't read through it that closely (there were 300+ comments), but there seemed to be a relatively healthy mix of comments condemning the coach and the asshats who posted say shit along the lines of "Why are the faggots getting so upset?", and tending to do so in far more articulate, mature ways. For a site dedicated to sports coverage, I reckon a 50/50 split between immature dickheads and normal people is actually pretty OK.
And serious "Woohoo!" for the Betty makeover; at first, it made her kinda endearing, but honestly, when you're an editor at a fashion magazine who takes zero interest in (a) fashion or (b) your own appearance, it goes beyond being individual and letting your own wonderful self shine through. Instead, you just look kinda unprofessional and lazy. Plus, who the hell wears braces for that long into adulthood?
Excited to hear that Pres. Obama has honoured Harvey Milk and also wondering why the OutGames attack wasn't a bigger deal generally? It strikes me as kind of an incident that shouldn't be tolerated and there should have been more police around to catch the guy who threw the bombs before too many were thrown.

Poor Cheyenne
he's so ugly ;) He looks fabulous and I love his t-shirt.
There's some ugly news in there, but reading about Harvey Milk getting the Medal of Freedom was nice. I hope it's a symbol of better news to come.

Geeks unite! Tron looks really great and the fact that the Jeff Bridges character has somehow gone over to the dark side is interesting.
Why the OutGames terrorism incident hasn't been highlighted as a front page story I don't understand.
How singularly innocent I look this morning.
