    OK, LOVING the briefs guy.

The one the other day was astoundingly pretty, with a body to die for and designer briefs.  But there's something about this guy--great body but not overly built or cut, slightly weathered face, softly contemplative expression, plain ol' tighty-whities--that is just...whew.  Double "whew."

    Medals of Freedom

Worth pointing out - one of the recipients in this batch of Medals of Freedom is Mary Robinson, a former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and, prior to that, President of Ireland (the first female to hold that post). She was a major figure in the fight to have homosexuality decriminalised in Ireland, and in 2005 was awarded the first ever Outspoken award from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission. I'll admit that my nationalism is showing through here shamelessly, but I hope you'll cut me some slack; she's one of the few politicians to emerge from my country who I'm genuinely proud of :D

Not only was she the legal

Not only was she the legal advisor for the Campaign for Homosexual Law Reform (a position also at one point held by our current president) she was actually the lawyer who argued the case in the European Courts.

She's pretty much as awesome as it gets.

    Plus...

...she did bollock-loads to advance women's rights (fighting for legal contraception, divorce, women being allowed to sit on juries and the overturning of a civil service regulation that made female civil servants resign when they got married) and the entire office of the presidency (which, prior to her election, was basically a retirement pasture for older politicians), though that's ever-so-slightly less relevant to this site.

    Adamo & Lauren

Adamo Ruggiero and Lauren Collins were on It's On with Alexa Chung (that new daytime talk show on MTV) today.  They talked about how they're roommates and best friends in real life.  Adamo mentioned that Lauren gives him advice on guys and his lovelife.  It was great to see him totally out.

    Pee-Wee!

Very excited about the return of Pee-Wee Herman.  The character is brilliant and so subversive.

    Harvey Milk

Would he actually have been honoured if it hadn't been for the movie?  I hate to say, but he was killed quite a few years ago.. why now he is being recognized for his work?

Same for Billie Jean King.. she ruled the courts back in the 70's.. Don't get me wrong, its great they are being honoured.. but seems like too little, too late.
