Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • Prayers for Bobby producer David Permut has acquired the rights to the life story of gay Beatles manager Brian Epstein.
  • Gay faves Project Runway and True Blood scored huge ratings victories last week. Runway's season premiere boasted the highest premiere ratings in the show's history (as well as for Lifetime), and True Blood scored the highest ratings for HBO since The Sopranos finale.
  • cbs5.com has a profile of Anthony Woods, the openly gay Iraq War veteran who's now running for Congress.

Daniel Breaker(L) in Passing Strange

  • Spike Lee premiered his film of the stage play Passing Strange at the IFC Center in NYC last week, and you can see it starting today as the first video on demand for Sundance Selects (it will also air on Great Performances on PBS early next year). The play featured some intriguing gay elements which will hopefully make their way to the screen.
  • Finally, former Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington is facing eviction from his Los Angeles home. He's alleged to owe more than $100,000 on the $20,000 a month residence. Twenty-thousand dollars a month ... and that probably doesn't include utilities. (t/y Dane for the tip).

    Perfect man, indeed.  Not just physically gorgeous, but apparently a total sweetheart and very gay-friendly.  And, of course, his penchant for walking around in his underwear sure doesn't hurt.  :)

    I don't fully understand why but I'm really liking how the brief's guys are "real men" and not male models that look nothing like your average guy. Its a nice departure, and I hope it sticks around for a while (or at least pops around more often than it has been)!

    If Ben Cohen looks like "your average guy" instead of a "male model," I want to move to your neighborhood!

    Unless you're referring to the fact that he has chest hair, I'm not sure what would be "average looking" about him. Well muscled... check.  Six pack... check.  Awesome shoulders... check. Nice package... check.  Sigh...

    Oh, right.   What's regular about him again?

    In my neighborhood the average guy DOES look like that.  Of course, I also live in a 'hood where all the local models and exoctic dancers live.  I have friends come over and I can't keep them away from my windows!  It's nice and all, but boy can it play games with one's self image!

    I totally agree Kitty! It is nice to see someone who is not carved out of cream cheese and actually has a little bit of hair *gasp* on their bodies!

    The Michael Urie/America Ferrera photo is hilarious. But who is Brain Epstein? :) Project Runway was alright. But I'm really happy about True Blood.

    Sorry, Snicks, tried to email back to you to disregard my previous email about Isaiah.  This news is several months old.  My tech guy at work was fiddling with my Outlook, and all of a sudden it re-sent a bunch of old emails that were apparently sitting in my outbox.  Ugh.  So, I've been apologizing all day to various people and giving the stink eye to my tech guy.  But hey, we get to revisit the karma that the universe cast upon Isaiah!  So it wasn't a total loss...    :)

    Who the bleep cares about Isaiah Washington when TR looks so good rehearsing Parade. I swear he dropped 10 years and the natural hair color suits him.

    I had to look him up and of course, found his website (www.ben-cohen.com) and found some photos. One of the photos is of him in the shower (from the hairy chest up) and woof....to be in there with him..no problem scrubbing that body from head to toe with a good massage afterwards....did it just get hot in here?

    I love both shows, so I'm glad to see they are dolng good in the ratings. Doesn't seem like the move to Lifetime hurt PR much. It was a good idea to keep the format intact, and of course, gay and talented designers don't hurt either;)
