Hunk smash!
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.
- Well, I've been trying to come up with a legitimate reason to post these pics of a hot, sweaty, shirtless Gerard Butler from the upcoming flick Gamer, and I think I've got it. Gerard's co-star in the action opus opening on September 4th is Michael C. Hall, who of course played one of TV's all-time great gay characters on Six Feet Under. Now that I've successfully defended my decision, here's one more pic ...

- Moises Kaufman is working on an eighty-minute epilogue to his The Laramie Project, which will focus on the impact of Matthew Shepard's murder on the town of Laramie, Wyoming. It will be given its debut simultaneously at dozens of theaters across the United States on Oct. 12, the 11th anniversary of Matthew's death.
- After much wrangling, the 2010 Census will report same-sex marriage data.
- Remember Wilhelmina's last scene on the season finale of Ugly Betty, when she turns the corner in her apartment and is shocked by who she sees? Gay reporter sprite Michael Ausiello has some scoop on who it may be.
- Out Broadway hunk-a-dunk (and AE favorite) Nick Adams will make his solo cabaret debut at Birdland in NYC on August 17th.
And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

No Cable News Either
Looks like GLAAD only bothers collecting data on a few networks. MSNBC not only has openly gay Rachel Maddow but openly gay regular pundit Jonathan Capehart.
Sure, you can argue that they don't necessarily talk about their gayness all the time. But GLAAD includes gays on reality shows as gay visibility hours.
Personally, I think it's weird that GLAAD doesn't look at cable news networks in general. GLAAD started as an organization that challenged how gays were portrayed in the news media's coverage of the AIDS epidemic in the 80s.
Chelsea's clip was funnier...
Three points
WHAT about Gerard Butler?
I must be out of the loop in this-what is "that other site*" reporting about him? Is it something I should care about more than shirtless pics of him?
*there's a more important site than this one? :)
basically
that source was iffy, to say the least
Oh I thought
Oh, I agree...
I tried to run the sourcing back first thing this morning to toss it to you, and ran into a bit #FAIL myself. Short of a Lexis-Nexis membership, I doubt it's trackable.
I'm just amused he came up at all. I'm glad he did - those pics cleansed all the images of that awful movie he's in out of my head.
i've read that article eons ago...
i was attracted with Gerald so many years ago. he wasn't that popular back then (it was pre-300) and he did mention that he doesn't care about the sexuality of his partner - whether it be male or female.... BUT then again - was it really him who wrote that comment? - that i'm not so sure. if i remember correctly it was a fan blog that accumulates interviews on magazine and such so for all i know they may have gotten it from the enquirer or something. it sounded legit at the time since he wasn't yet that commercial (i think it was just a few years after his movie Mrs. Brown). but no one really knows.
the funny thing is that was waaaay before he was a bleep in the entertainment world. usually gay rumors only surface when the guy is already popular or making waves. no one would give a damn if one is bisexual if the actor is a virtual unknown. that's why it sounded so real back then. and for so many years he never denied it - up until he bacame popular. so i can understand that people are still questioning his heterosexuality.
H's & K's, snicks. . .

Laramie Project Epilogue
