Kim Catrall filming a scene from the upcoming Sex and The City sequel
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.
- I have to admit to not being a huge fan of the first Sex and The City movie (two and a half hours, and the biggest laugh is Charlotte's explosive diarrhea?), and the possible spoilers about the sequel that are leaking out leave me scratching my head. Those two characters? On the plus side they appear to be filming flashbacks to the 80's for each character, and above you can see Samantha (Kim Catrall) channeling her inner Dale Bozzio (my undying love to whoever gets that reference).
- With the premiere of The CW's The Vampire Diaries tomorrow, out show creator Kevin Williamson chats about the inevitable comparisons to Twilight.
- CNN interviewed Kathy Griffin last night about Official Book Club Selection, and she talked about her family (including some surprising revelations about her late brother), and her own botched liposuction.
Congrats to Jim Verraros and Bill Brennan!

- Big congratulations to American Idol Season One contestant Jim Verraros, who tied the knot with fiance Bill Brennan last weekend. You can see more of the touching wedding photos here.
- Director Kevin Smith has revealed that his upcoming horror film Red State has a monstrous villain inspired by ... Fred Phelps.
- Finally, remember last week when we commented on Brad Gilbert and his "fruity-looking" remark? ESPN has responded, and sent us this e-mail: "ESPN is a company that places a high value on diversity and we apologize for the inadvertent slight in Brad Gilbert's commentary. The issue has been addressed with him, and while he meant no reference to sexual orientation, he understands he should have chosen his words better."
And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

A reason to love AE
I know AfterElton doesn't fight gay rights in the political wars, but in the culture wars it's a powerful, increasingly important vanguard. I truly love the fact that it's able to make TV people stop and think. The fact that ESPN (a sports channel!!!!) is actually taking ideas of homophobia seriously... Well, just GODDAMN!
I don't live in America and I'm awe-struck that this site can make a sports department actually respond so quickly. In the UK the TV companies would prevaricate for at least another three weeks and then come up with something anodyne to justify their actions before actually changing their minds.
I know this isn't a proper comment and instead has turned into a fan letter, but I. am. just. so. impressed.
So if Kim Cattrall is channeling Dale Bozzio...
R.A.N.D.O.M. and i love it
I have no idea where Kim's headed...
...her "Destination Unknown". Maybe's she's "Walking In L.A." I could say more, but what are "Words" for?
So, about the undying love thing...
Y'know, I could NEVER remember which one was Terry and which one was Dale. Dang gender-neutral names!
speaking of american idol...
i'm hearing ellen is gonna be paula's replacement. i don't watch the show, but i still think that is a random choice. maybe it'll bring humor in the show...better humor than ryan seacrest's. :-P
Good response also from ESPN.
The Briefs Guy!
Really hot! For a split second, I misread his name as "Will Ferrell", and thought, WTF? Then I got a better look.
And another. and another...
'Words'
You know how they say there is no such thing as a coincidence? Just last Friday I was trying to remember the name of this group who had this random video on MTV that I loved in the eighties but never got shown that much and the lead singer had that pink hair and silver bikini top short skirt outfit and I could not for the life of me remember her name or the name of the group or the damn song. And here you go and put it here today. Now that is so weird! I thought the lead singer was Teri. Turns out the song I so wanted to hear last week is 'Words'! I can't believe you put this in your column today. I turn 50 next month and forgetfulness and lost memories are becoming an issue.
Thanks for helping me find this! Yay!
