AfterElton Briefs: "All About Evil", a gay icon is honored, and more!

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • The majestic Sigourney Weaver attended a special screening of Prayers for Bobby in NYC last night, followed by a question-and-answer session. The film premieres on Lifetime this Saturday night, and is an absolute must-see.
  • Out filmmaker Darren Stein (Jawbreaker) is producing All About Evil, the latest film from Joshua Grannell, who's probably better known as San Francisco drag artist Peaches Christ. Described as a "gore comedy", the cast includes Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), Mink Stole, Mary Woronov and somehow, The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Thomas Dekker.
  • Speaking of eclectic casts, the lineup for Broadway Backwards 4 has been announced. The show (which we covered last year) has the diverse cast of performers sing tunes usually associated with the opposite gender. How diverse? How about Florence Henderson, Sandra Bernhard, Cheyenne Jackson, Ron Pallilo, Mario Cantone, Alan Cumming, Gina Gershon, Whoopi Goldberg, Megan Mullally, Becki Newton, Jai Rodriguez, Christopher Sieber, John Tartaglia, Michael Urie, and Maureen McGovern (because there's got to be a morning after).

  • Above you can see the hilarious (and slightly NSFW) trailer for the 1972 classic Andy Warhol's Heat, which starred gay icon Joe Dallesandro and the fabulous Sylvia Miles. Joe, who's now sixty, will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Berlin Film Festival next month. Even though he's best known for his Warhol films, Joe's greatest cinematic achievement was in The Gardener (aka Seeds of Evil), in which he transformed into a deadly tree.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

This guy!
