AfterElton Briefs: Protecting marriage from bad acting, "The Rescue Shelter Boys", and more!

Jack Mackenroth has lined up a new gig

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • Out Project Runway Season Four favorite Jack Mackenroth continues to build his post-show resume. He's just been named the East Coast Correspondent for the Broadband Emmy Award-winning show Fashion News Live, where he'll be covering various fashion events in the New York area, as well as Fashion Week.
  • Neil Patrick Harris has been nominated for a Constellation Award for Best Male Performance for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Unfortunately, he's up against Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, so he should remember ... it's an honor just to be nominated.
  • The dead have risen and are ... bad actors! Above you can see a new PSA from something called the "National Organization for Marriage" in response to the "threat" of same-sex nuptials. And yes, even though the ad is filled with lies and distortions, at least it kept these poor out-of-work actors from having to lose an audition for "bystander #2" in the latest Larry The Cable Guy epic. Speaking of auditions, if you think the actors in this ad are awful, take a look at the ones who didn't make the cut.
  • Finally, in what I'm really hoping is just a late April Fool's joke, PETA has apparently asked The Pet Shop Boys to change their name to ... The Rescue Shelter Boys. They politely declined.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

This guy!

    Anti-marriage will stop at nothing

I recently found out that the Massachusetts couple used in the Yes on Eight campaign last Fall were unrelated, neither was from Massachusetts and they were just hired actors too.  Lets face it isn't their campaign to prevent us from going even further and demanding same-sex pregnancies? How ridiculous are they going to get with this issue.

Prop 8 never said that same sex marriage must be taught in public school.  If the female doctor in this ad is so vehement in her beliefs, she can well afford to pull her kid out of school and put him in a religious school, where he can get a second rate education to sustain her ill-concievd ideas. Of course her kid could then knock up his girlfriend because he doesn't know anything about sex period.  Will she pick up the tab for that?  If she doesn't will she vote against welfare to help raise the kid because he was so stupid in wanting her to get pregnant so he could escape her moronic beliefs.  Then too he might actually turn out to be gay even if she does not let him learn about such things.  Oh. the short-sightedness of their Draconian plotting.

If they are defeated state by state we only need to win over 14 more states to prevent a national Constitutional amendment.  A very achievable number, and perhaps surpassible by an even larger margin.

    That's all I am saying...

    You really think....

...That a Federal Marriage Amendment would go through when none of the proposed Abortion Amendments have succeeded?
