AfterElton Briefs: "That's Gay" takes on "Bruno", a new gay sci-fi/fantasy mag comes out, and more!

Pet Shop Boys singer Neil Tennant performing with a box on his head in Spain.

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.

  • Introducing Icarus, the "first magazine devoted to gay-themed speculative fiction and writing - from fantasy to horror to science fiction, and all the weird tales that fall between the cracks".
  • Rockstar Energy Drinks (whose founder is the son of major phobe Michael Savage) has affirmed its support for GLBT rights. Nice gesture, but I still wouldn't drink it.
  • The London National Portrait Gallery has officially opened the "Gay Icons" exhibit, which features the icons (straight or gay) of other gay icons.

  • We have to admit to being quite enamored of Current TV's Bryan Safi and his "That's Gay" series of short vids, and above you can see his latest, which is Bryan's take on the Bruno phenomenon.
  • Gay reporter sprite Michael Ausiello is reporting that HBO's Big Love is currently looking to cast "an empathetic closeted gay Mormon" character who will "presumably be a love interest for gay character Albie."

Um ... which one is fake? Just kidding!

  • Congrats to Kathy Griffin, who's moved from the D-List to the Madame Tousseau Wax Museum in Las Vegas. But why the hell is she gripping the mic like that?

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...

This guy!

Okay guys, he needs a name! Take your best shot.
