I'm still not sure that it's homophobes that are the joke however and not gays in Bruno. I mean, has Cohen come out as being supportive of us and saying that the film is what we've been speculating or are we just assuming the best for fear of the worst here?

Bruno is just not very funny. Cartooish to well beyond the point of absurdity it takes weak stabs at satire via interviews with Ron Paul, Paula Abdul and arch-homophobe Paul Cameron. None fo them amount to anything.

Still it's not as insulting as Humpday -- a cheap insult to gay men that's to be avoided at all costs.

I've peripherally heard about Humpday and read a couple reviews that didn't mention any homophobia but I don't really know what the reviewers' gay credentials are so what did you think was wrong with it?

Regarding Russell Weiner

Is it because of his father's homophobia or has Russell Weiner done/said something homophobic or anti-gay?

His father doesn't seem to have anything to do with the company (although his mother sits on the board)

I guess I'm just wondering if thre is some inside info about Russell Weiner because what he's doing with his company seems amazing to me.

If he's trying to make u for past misdeeds, Good for him.

If he's just doing it because he believes in LGTB rights and wants to help, Good for him.

We can't choose our parents.

Here's his statement:

“It has recently come to ROCKSTAR’s attention that there might be a misconception about our company’s policy and my personal support for LGBT rights,” said Weiner. “We apologize for that misunderstanding, and want to make clear today that our company fully supports our LGBT employees and our LGBT customers.”

"Some have erroneously associated our company with offensive language directed at LGBT people, specifically statements coming from Michael Savage, who is not and has never been a shareholder or officer of ROCKSTAR Energy Drink.

On behalf of our company and directors, including myself and CFO Janet Weiner, I would like to take this opportunity to disavow any offensive statements directed toward LGBT people, including statements from Michael Savage.

ROCKSTAR assures our customers and the general public that our brand will never be associated with any language that does not affirm the essential dignity of every person in our diverse national community."

I don't know anything about him beyond what I just read but it seems like he's doing some incredible philanthropy (above and beyond what benefits his direct employees).

Seems unreasonable to boycott RockStar because of "Michael Savage" alone.
