AfterElton Briefs: Jack Mackenroth has a new project, the battle over Prop 8 isn't over, and more!

• One of our favorite guys, the out Project Runway hunk Jack Mackenroth, has a new project to announce. It's called Living Positive By Design, and the goal is to "help combat the stigma associated with HIV by engaging people in thoughtful conversation about the condition". Jack will be touring the country to talk about the project, and on November 10th will be in NYC to speak at the GMHC fundraiser Fashion Forward. Hosted by Tim Gunn, the event salutes the fashion industry's longstanding commitment to fighting HIV and AIDS.

• Earlier this week, we posted about the gay content in this year's Halloween episode of The Simpsons. We discussed the gay storyline, but GLSEN is more interested in bully character Nelson Munz using the taunt "that's so gay" during the episode. They want Nelson to apologize to the victim of his bullying - Milhouse.

• We're all dealing with the disappointment and bitterness about the "apparent" passing of...that Proposition in California, but according to the website Daily Kos, all may not be lost. In a post titled California Prop 8 not last word on gay marriage, they make the assertion that the California Supreme Court will most likely overturn Prop 8. Be prepared to hear the words "activist judges" ad nauseam if that happens.

• And because we all need a pick-me-up, here are a couple of items that might elicit a chuckle. Above you can see a short vid of Stephen Baldwin from a few months ago, threatening to leave the country if Barack Obama got the Democratic nomination. We didn't say anything at the time, but now that Barack has gone one step further, isn't it time for Stephen to do the right thing?

• Finally, we can't show this video, but various outlets are posting a clip of actor Steve Guttenberg jogging in NYC. Why is this of interest? Well, the P.S. Your Cat is Dead star is seen running...sans pants. Of course, it's most likely some kind of joke, but you have to give him credit for letting it all hang out (sort of, the good stuff is blurred). Oh, and if you pause it at a certain point and squint, you can see the ghost of a dead kid behind a tree! (Or maybe it's a hanging munchkin...I get my urban legends confused sometimes.)
