"American Idol": And then there were two

The final three learned their fates on American Idol last night, but first took time to visit their hometowns. Danny Gokey went to Milwaukee, and a loveable street urchin summed up Danny's appeal by saying "he's cute, he's got good glasses, and he's from Milwaukee!". Yep, that about does it. And just let me say that it is unforgivable that he did not once shuffle down the streets of Milwaukee singing ""One two three four five six seven eight, schlemiel, schlamozzle, hassenpfeffer incorporated!". Gokey Fail!

Next up was Kris Allen, who went home to Arkansas and had a sweet reunion with his family. I've warmed to Kris in the last few weeks, so I really have nothing snarky to say.

Adam Lambert went back to San Diego and had to deal with a half-naked girl rushing the stage (boobies!), and what seemed like thousands of screaming, diminutive zombies attacking his limo.

"Two guys hugging? ... ICK!"

So who got cut, and who will compete in next week's finals? I'm sure you already know, but we've got the Spoilers for you just in case.

Danny lost! I could say plenty of crass things about Danny, and his beliefs ... and glasses ... and smugness, but I'll leave that to you!

I have to say I'm shocked. With Gokey's fan-base in full-force, I fully expected Adam to feel the wrath this week, but having Adam competing with Kris next week could be worse for him than going up against Gokey.

Both Gokey and Adam are polarizing figures, with Kris caught in the middle, and I'm afraid that Gokey's fan-base is going to overwhelmingly side with Kris next week.
