Amy Poehler on "Spring Breakdown", "Inside Vladimir", and playing Debbie Harry's lover

Above you can see the trailer for the upcoming direct-to-DVD release Spring Breakdown, which stars the dream cast of Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Parker Posey, and Jane Lynch (as a gun-toting conservative politician). Sold yet?

Amy was recently interviewed by Advocate.com and was asked about the film's gay appeal:

Please, that movie is made for the gays! If we can’t get the gays to go see that movie, then I don’t know what they want. It’s this fun, silly romp about three ladies in their 30s who do spring break one last time, and it stars Parker Posey, Rachel Dratch, and me. Our very gay director, Ryan Shiraki, calls it a “gay acid trip.” I’m lucky enough to work with and be surrounded by gay men who love women.

She also talks about working with Tina Fey in the improv group Inside Vladimir (named after a gay porno), her disappointment that drag queens don't impersonate her, and playing Debbie Harry's lover in the mockumentary The Mystery of Claywoman:

That was a dream come true. I did that for a friend of mine, Michael Cavadias, who is a beautiful specimen. After we shot our little scene, I hailed a cab for Debbie, who was wearing strappy bondage shoes, kick-ass sunglasses, and this fabulous asymmetrical coat with crazy buttons. When she left, I said to Michael, “Oh, my God. The 14-year-old Amy Poehler is exploding at the fact that I just hailed Blondie a cab.”

Poehler also discusses her new show Parks and Recreation (which debuts Thursday), her husband Will Arnett's gay fan base and the number of gays behind the scenes at SNL, and instantly gains my undying love with her admission that she once showed up at an 80's-themed party ... dressed as Baby Jessica.

    Nope

The clip doesn't appear to be there, just an expanse of white.

    Edit: Never mind.

    Can't wait!

Coming from Amy Poehler this is going to be hilarious. Although I don't see how that movie is "made for gays"...

    This looks good!!

I think the "made for gays" comment alludes to the fact it is made BY gays (the director) and the fact that Jane Lynch is in it. I am pretty sure she is gay and I know she is hilarious. She can read traffic reports and be funny. There may have been other gay people in the cast as well.

If these guys are all gay, then what is my dad doing here?!

Thanks for the information.  It took me a while to warm up to Amy and Parker, but I do really enjoy them now.  I've always loved Rachel!
