Your Monday Morning "Everything Bagel!"

Enjoy this tasty treat designed help to stall the inevitable soul crushingness that is known as the start of the work week. Savor it because as soon as you're done, it begins...

The final proof that the polar ice caps are, indeed, melting.
- The news of rugger Gareth Thomas coming out is spreading like wildfire, and now his former coach and out former basketball player John Amaechi are chiming in.
- In case you were still trying to decide which network to watch for New Year's Eve coverage maybe this will help: CNN will have Anderson Cooper, Kathy Griffin, and Lance Bass.
Happy Birthday to Jake Gyllenhaal and Christina Aguilera who both turned 29 over the weekend.
- Below you can see just one of the pics from photographer William Yang's Sydney exhibit of out Olympian Matthew Mitcham. My first thought at seeing this pic was "This is the hottest thing since The Pillow Book" and "I'd give anything to have been the one to write on his nipples". Then I realized that the writing was actually on the picture ... not his body. I'm kinda dumb.

- Washington D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has signed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in the nation's capital. Gay couples may be able to wed as early as March, but some awful people will unsuccessfully attempt to fight the bill.
- Robert Downey Jr. dropped by Late Night with David Letterman last week and raised some eyebrows dropping the word "homos" in describing the characters in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes. Not to be outdone, Paul Shaffer chimed in with "screamers". That's hilarious, Paul, and totally worth the two cents.
- Canadian MP Scott Brison has responded to the insanity surrounding his Christmas card.
- In sad and shocking news, actress Brittany Murphy has died in Los Angeles at age 32. The star of Clueless, 8 Mile, and Don't Say A Word went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived. Police are investigating.

- Finally, Avatar opened huge at the box office despite the higher 3-D ticket price and the blizzard on the east coast of the U.S. But somehow the protest was a success.
- And here is your sports pics of the week!
Figure skater (and Olympic hopeful) Rockne Brubaker. I really have to start watching figure skating.
And now the work week begins! We're so so sorry...
