AfterElton Briefs: Ryan Reynolds is the "Boss", HBO Greenlights Gayest Mini-Series Ever Made, Win Adam Lambert Tickets, and More
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious. each Friday Briefs will also feature a pic up top that desperately needs captioning. We'll pick our fave suggestion from the comments and run it in the following week's post. Have fun! Drop your caption ideas in the comments, and check out last week's winner at the bottom of the page!
- Just a reminder that we're taking Monday (President's Day) off, but we will be around to liveblog the soapy goodness on One Life To Live.
- We discussed the rumors a while back, and now the Spurf at Entertainment Weekly has confirmed it. Oscar winner Kate Winslet will star in a five-hour HBO mini-series remake of Mildred Pierce, to be directed by out Todd Haynes. I think we've hit the gay motherlode.
- BBC America has announced that they'll be airing the second and third seasons of Being Human starting this summer. You can see a sneak peek of the second season opener below.
- A couple of tibits from GLAAD: They want you to twitter your disapproval to John Mayer for his use of the "F" word in that Playboy article.
- GLAAD also has a mini-review of Valentine's Day that's pretty much a rave. They also take snipes at "various outlets" and "other blogs" that have had less charitable things to say about the film. Who could they be talking about?

- Ryan Reynolds has signed on to be the face of the new Hugo Boss fragrance "Boss". So what does that have to do with the above shirtless Ryan pic? Nothing.
- Adam Lambert will be performing a private concert on Monday in NYC, and you can win tickets.
- In tragic news, the Winter Olympics already has its first fatality. Also, some Deadspin commenters are jerks.
- Another week, another gay bookstore in trouble. This time it's Gay's The Word in the UK, who are facing a massive rent increase.

- Finally, to warm your heart for this weekend, listen to this NPR story about what "family" truly means. (t/y to reader smartypants for the tip)

Thanks to everyone for participating! Great captions this week! We plucked this one because of the egg-cellent puns.
"Mr. Cluckle's panicked. Why had he helped his friends fly the coop? Now he was an egg-cessory to the crime! What a crazy weekend it had turned out to be."
Thanks to Morgan for this week's winning caption.
