AfterElton Briefs: 80 American GLBT Classics, Video Game Nudieness, An Interchangeable Lady Gaga and Johnny Weir, and More!!
More Adam Lambert from photographer Mike Ruiz
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.
- We thought that last year's Make The Yuletide Gay was pretty much a lump of coal in our stocking, but enough people enjoyed it for Make The Yuletide Gay 2 to to get the greenlight. I just hope they bring Alison Arngrim back.
- Wanda Sykes and Drew Barrymore are among the honorees at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards, to be held April 17 in Los Angeles.
- Below you can see a mildly-NSFW clip from the PS3 video game Heavy Rain. I don't know what's funnier, the Austin Powers-style attempt to hide CGI goodies, the soft-core "watch me shower" piano theme, the "jiggle the joystick" toweling-off requirement, or the fact that tons of straight guys are going to have to watch a man shower in order to advance in the game.
- Out.com has released 80 American Classics, their list of "the movies, books, actors and everything pop culture that has shaped the landscape of the LGBT community".
- NYC will be the home for the first gay boutique hotel. The Out NYC is a $20 million project being developed in Hell's Kitchen, and will feature 23 guest rooms, a gym, spa, restaurant and café. But don't worry, it's not going to discriminate. It will be "hetero-friendly".
Gaga or Johnny? Which is which?
- TheDailyBeast.com has a snarky but inevitable quiz asking if you can tell the difference between Lady Gaga and Johnny Weir ... based just on their costumes.
- You gotta love Sir Elton John. He just says whatever he wants without that whole "internal thought filter" thing. He's like Sophia Petrillo with better wigs. He recently told an Australian paper that "Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems." Sounds logical to me.
- Finally, I leave with you with this. This is the billboard for the Auckland, New Zealand premiere of the HBO series Hung. Genius.
