AfterElton Briefs: The Next Carrie Prejean, "Dark Frontier", Neil and David are Hunks of Burning Love, and more!

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's "Viva ELVIS" in Las Vegas

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.

  • I love Star Trek fan videos for two reasons - the obvious dedication and exuberance that shows through even with the low budgets, and the fact that some of them are willing to boldly go with same-sex couples where the franchise shows were too cowardly to go. Dark Frontier is one of those web series, and below you can see the introduction of a seriously sweet and adorkable gay couple. NOTE: There is one NSFW profanity in the vid that rhymes with "Brass Pole".

  • *SIGH* Here we go again. The internets are raging with the story of "Miss Beverly Hills 2010" Lauren Ashley, who's made anti-gay comments that would give even Carrie Prejean pause. Boy Culture has taken a lot of heat for commenting on Miss Ashley's looks, but she reminds me a bit of Carrie White. And I can see her dirty pillows.
  • If, like me, you've been curious about the James Franco-directed award-winning short film The Feast of Stephen ever since the plot point "naked basketball" was announced, then you're in luck! You can get a NSFW preview at Movieline.com. But be warned ... Link Removed Due To Some Stupid Person Hacking It With A Virus

One more of Neil and David. Awww!

  • Somehow, Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner, Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart will all be presenting Oscars next month. Explain!
  • Below you can see the cover of Shortpacked! Is Totally Gay, the latest book compilation of the web comic Shortpacked!. The focus of this edition is on the coming-out of character Ethan.

  • Adam Lambert was interviewed by the UK's Gay Times and, among other things, talked about Susan Boyle's debut album beating his on the charts, and calling her version of "Wild Horses" ... horrendous. MEOW.
  • The NCAA has responded to a firestorm of criticism for having ads for Focus on the Family on one of its websites. They've removed the ads.
  • Finally, here's one more of Neil with some ... interesting Elvi (that's the plural of Elvis). I'll take the one on the right, the others look too much like cast-offs from Lazy Town.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
