AfterElton Briefs: "Twilight" Gets an Out Director (Possibly), Today's "As The World Turns" Recap, CNN Responds (Ha!), and More!

Plus Lady Gay Gay, Attitude's "Naked Issue", and why am I obsessed with that hot Zegerid guy's painted nipples?

  • Above you can see the new issue of Attitude, Britain's leading gay magazine. For "The Naked Issue" they procured actor Danny Young for the front cover and singer Craig David for the back.
  • Well, this was ... unexpected. After much speculation, it appears that the top choice to direct The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is out director Bill Condon. It looks as though the helmer of Gods And Monsters and Dreamgirls may have to put off directing Salmon Fishing in the Yemen in order to watch Taylor Lautner rip his shirt off.

  • Below you can see the bizarre and totally hot (IMHO) ad for something called Zegerid. I've seen it countless times and I still don't know what the pill is for. I'm always too busy staring at this guy's painted nipples and wondering who the artist was. And how much does painting a hot guy's nipples pay? Because I'd do it for free.

"At this time yesterday we were talking about a pretty unbelievable law in California, long forgotten but still on the books that listed homosexuals as sexual deviants and called on health care experts to search for a cure. We talked to one lawmaker who was working to repeal it. After our show, that effort took a big step forward. The measure was approved out of committee, and is now headed for a final vote. We'll keep you posted."
  • WOW. Just WOW. Not only did she not address the controversy, but she makes it seem as though yesterday's report had something to do with the measure being passed. And just for the record, Kyra and CNN - calling someone an "expert on sexual reorientation" is like calling someone an "expert on unicorns."
  • A teen in Nashville was sent home from school for wearing an I Heart Lady Gay Gay T-shirt. I'm sorry, this brings back painful memories of when I was sent home in high school for wearing an "I Heart Gaylor Gayne" T-shirt.

  • We were liveblogging One Life To Live today (because, you know, tick-tock), but we had to keep you up to date with what's going on in Oakhell. Today's episode was really just a primer for the (hopefully) juicy stuff that's to come. Luke tries to convince Large Angry Guy to drop his lawsuit against Reid, and Luke is surprised by Reid's reaction. I love that they're giving these guys a slow thaw. After all the months of hate and vitriol, they're not going to jump into bed (or ... jump on the bed) right away. I'm perfectly fine with them taking it slowly ... as long as we get something more than ... mistletoe.

  • Yesterday Ellen Degeneres showed a clip on her show from Family Feud that asked the survey question "Name something everyone knows about Ellen Degeneres." It was all fun and giggles until a shocking and offensive answer was given. Today Ellen showed the clip to Mama ... who was royally P.O'd. Watch out, Sutton family!

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
