AfterElton Briefs: "A Drop of True Blood", Conservatives Still Aren't Funny, a "Glee" preview, and more!

Plus we heart Miss Indiana, a Ticked Off Trannies star fights back, and Happy Birthday to the man who gave us Divine and Tracy Turnblad.

The world of the heterosexual is a sick and boring life!

  • Happy 64th birthday to living legend John Waters. I can't tell you how many times his films have gotten me in trouble, whether it was yelling at my niece "Can't you just sit here and look out into the air? Isn't that enough? Do you always have to badger me for attention?" or trying to shoplift a raw steak taped to my thigh. He's proven to be a huge inspiration in my life.

  • True Blood doesn't start Season Three until June, but in the meantime HBO has something special to sink your teeth into: "We know waiting sucks. That's why we're giving you six new True Blood mini episodes, written by Alan Ball. A new one premieres each week starting Sunday May 2, directly following the Season 2 replays at 8PM EST. It all leads up to the Season 3 premiere June 13, only on HBO." You can see the trailer below. I'm hoping we see more of the late, lamented Maryann.

  • Fox News "personality" (I know, it's a contradiction in terms) Greg Gutfeld proves once again that conservatives just aren't funny. Unless they're being unintentionally funny. Which is often. And seriously, his show airs at 3AM, which means his fanbase is drunks just home from the bar, angry loners, and insomniacs who are tired of watching Extenze commercials.
  • How can Glee possibly top the Madonna episode? How about ... Kristin Chenoweth!

  • Willam Belli, one of the stars of Ticked off Trannies With Knives, has written an open letter to the critics of the film, including GLAAD. He's ... ticked off.
  • Finally, apropos of nothing, here's a cat beating up a dog. I'm not sure, but I think the dog's name is Ed.

And today's Briefs are brought to you by...
