Plus which gay slurs are "acceptable" on TV, Bryan Safi on video gayming, and which Menudo-ite really came out first?

Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious. each Friday Briefs will also feature a pic up top that desperately needs captioning. We'll pick our fave suggestion from the comments and run it in the following week's post. Have fun! Drop your caption ideas in the comments, and check out last week's winner at the bottom of the page!

Insert your own "unwrapping" joke.

  • I know you're probably thinking "Not another shirtless pic of rugby God Ben Cohen!" but this time there's a legitimate reason, I swear. Ben recently sat down with Compete and talked about his gay fan base and Gareth Thomas.
  • UK broadcasting watchdog Ofcom asked a small sample of people what words they found acceptable for broadcast, and "queer," "poof," and "lezza" were judged A-OK. "Queer" I can understand, but I know TV personalities have gotten in trouble for using "poof," and who the hell says "lezza?"
  • Speaking of the UK, the head of a commercial radio body is complaining that there are too may presenters on BBC Radio 2 "camping it up," and specifically points to Graham Norton and Alan Carr, saying their shows are "end of the pier stuff." Um ... could I get a translation?
  • In one of my favorite episodes of "That's Gay," Bryan Safi takes a look at the rise of gay characters in video games. "And put the baby down on the floor. Where it belongs." Ha!

Weekend birthdays! Scott Thompson turns 51, and The Other Evans turns 29.

  • The Spurf™ at Entertainment Weekly has *SPOILERS* about Glee's second season. Here's a hint ... space aliens!
  • Finally, the theme of Broadway Bares XX is "Strip-opoly," and you're asked to donate as much as you can to help Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's event takes place on June 20th at Roseland Ballroom in NYC, and from the looks of it, these guys are going to need bailing out!

Eddie, Alfie, Kyle, Sebastian, Adam, and Andrew
