• We won't have our regular Twitterwatch column this week, so I'll sprinkle some tweets throughout the briefs so you can get your fix.

• The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network is advising gay soldiers not to fill out that DADT survey that is currently being e-mailed. "Troops could be accidentally exposed by answering the survey and the Defense Department has not agreed to grant immunity should that happen."

• South Korean researchers are claiming that female mice can be turned lesbian by deleting a single gene. The FucM gene. I swear I didn't make that up. Here's my favorite line: "He hoped to investigate further to see what effect the enzyme produced by the gene has on human sexual orientation, although he admitted it could be difficult to find volunteers."

• Elton John has announced that he's through making pop albums, and wants to "make music that fits my age." How about making an album of wedding songs for asshats to dance to?

• The Spurf has a HUGE Brothers & Sisters spoiler about Kevin and Scotty's fatherhood quest. I'm not sure I'm liking this ... at all.

• OMLGKM! Would the media please stop referring to Rep. Aaaron Schock as a "gay icon!" He, along with Levi Johnston and those Jersey Shore guys are not in any way icons. To be even considered for that status, you have to actually have done something for the gay community, and exposing your abs or ass doesn't qualify.

• AE reader sdc100 has a fantastic observation about "World Cup Soccer and Gay Marriage."

• We wished her a fabulous birthday earlier this week, and now comes word that Jennifer Saunders has been battling breast cancer for the last eight months, but thankfully it's in remission (h/t to Aiden).

• Washington Blade has an interview with Lt. Dan Choi about his trial next week, which he calls a "badge of honor." Speaking of Dan, below you can see him in the latest "Ask a Celebrity Expert."

• Our last tweet comes courtesy of adorable Matthew Mitcham who looks like he could take some advice from The Flying Monkey's latest column.
