  • Logo has acquired the syndication rights to F/X's Nip/Tuck. It'll air the entire seven seasons in sequence beginning in October, with three-episode stacks on one night during primetime, and a new stack of episodes each week.
  • Below you can see the first official trailer for Howl, the much-anticipated bio-pic of Allen Ginsberg. The perpetually enigmatic James Franco stars as the poet, and the film "interweaves three stories: the unfolding of the landmark 1957 obscenity trial; an imaginative animated ride through the prophetic masterpiece; and a unique portrait of a man who found new ways to express himself, and in doing so, changed his own life and galvanized a generation." It opens September 24th in N.Y. and L.A, with a national roll-out to follow.

  • Off-Broadway performances begin August 24th of the new musical It Must Be Him, starring Peter Scolari. He plays Louie Wexler, a comedy writer "desperate to rekindle his fading career, save his posh Beverly Hills home and find the man of his dreams." The musical co-stars Avenue Q's Stephanie D'Abruzzo and one of my all-time favorite character actresses, Liz Torres.
  • Fresh from their Haiti earthquake relief work, activist couple Nate Guidas and Luke Montgomery (formerly Luke Sissyfag) have turned their attention to the BP oil spill, and have set up unf**kthegulf.com (Um ... NSFW). The video features everyday people from all walks of life (including a couple of kids) using that four-letter word to express their displeasure with BP (I'm not sure, but I think the script was written by David Mamet). $5 dollars of every T-shirt sold will go to help causes including oiled wildlife rescue, clean-up volunteer mobilization, green energy advocacy and a lawsuit to stop BP's new exploratory oil drilling.

  • The Spurf™ has some big casting news about the upcoming season of Torchwood, as well as spoilers about Glee and Sporatacus.
  • Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Ryan Reynolds and his CGI Green Lantern suit. At least, it's allegedly Ryan. To me, it looks like Will Ferrell's younger brother.

  • Gay-ally Enrique Iglesias made a promise that if Spain won that football thingy, he would "get drunk and ski naked in Biscayne Bay." Well Spain did win, and Enrique's rep promises "a bet is a bet!" I'm counting on you, cell-phone cameras ... don't let me down!
  • Finally, while we all patiently wait for the greatest SyFy movie of all time, we can wet our whistles with this trailer for the certain-to-be SyFy classic Sharktopus. Oh, and the bungee jumper totally deserved it.
