Bryan Fuller jumps the sinking ship that is "Heroes" ... again

Out mega-producer Bryan Fuller made news when he rejoined NBC's Heroes to try to save the struggling show, but apparently his creative superpowers can only go so far.

According to gay reporter sprite Michael Ausiello, Fuller has left his position as consulting producer to develop new shows for the network, but not because of rumored tensions between him and Heroes creator Tim Kring:

"I'm crafting two pilots right now and it's a lot of work," admits Fuller, who has an overall deal with NBC. "It was just too hard to [juggle] Heroes and my development; something had to give."

What do you think, Heroes fans? Did you notice an improvement in quality since Bryan came back, and will you return next season for what will likely be the show's last?

    What Heroes?

Does anyone still care about Heroes? I only watch it for Milo Ventimiglia.

Probably good move for Bryan, jumping off before the ship sinks and not have it on his resume when it officially gets cancelled.

    Hmmm

Season1 was amazing, season 2 was appaling and season 3 started a quite bad (it seemed to be all about 'the company' instead of about these peoples lives changing which was kinda boring, i mean it isnt a cop/CIA type show) but definately improved towards the end. I really hope they get it back to th season 1 standard but i have my doubts. If it starts to tank i dont know how much longer i could take it. I lost interest with LOST as well, and now i hear that theyve introdused timetravel? sounds a bit far fetched to me but i stopped watching half way through season 4.

My tounge would catch your tounge...were the world mine :-)

    Heroes

Count me in as one who still watches Heroes.

Have to say last season was better than season 2. The finale was a step towards a much better season 3. Got to say it was very inventive to kill off a main character, yet still have him around next season.

Will make a prediction though about the show. Hiro will get his time travelling powers back, go back in time and save Nathan somehow.

It has it's problems like most shows but at least the show is trying, (which is more than some show that just seem to exist forever - recycling storylines).

Wish Bryan the best of luck. Can't wait to see what he will come with next.

    I will still watch

Agreed, season 2 was awful!  Season 3 didn't start out much better, but it definitely showed improvement at the end.  I'm curious to see where it goes next.

Being a DOOL fan, I'm also excited about the addition of Rachel Melvin to the cast, and interested to see what she will do with the role.

I'm Surprised Heroes has lasted this long

Season 1 was good until the season finale which basically ruined everything. It was a dud.

Season 2 as a poster above said "was appalling"

I believe this is a good move by Fuller - it places ALL of the blame on Kring. Kring, will probably never work again in Hollywood while Fuller will probably get to make a few other shows before they're ruined/canceled by upper management.

A lot of work to do

I'll continue to watch Heroes, but just because I'm a total media nerd when it comes to postmodern analysis.

But I thought season 3 was shocking. Everything had been used in the series before - did they really expect us to get revved up over yet another end-of-the-world painting on the floor? Come on. Way too many inconsistencies with the other two seasons.

So yes, I'm a disappointed fan. There is a lot of work to do if producers really hope to save the show.

    I'm so sad

I love Heroes, I'm hard core, stick with it until the very end, sort of fan. I love the show, it brings memories of gathering around the TV with family at home, and then with friends in the dorms at my university.

Yes, season 2 was horrible, so was volumn 3, but volumn four really started to turn it around. I really thought the improvement was thanks to Brian Fuller. I thought he could save the show I love, and make it into something wonderful again. Something everyone would watch and enjoy.

Now, I fear it's going to fizzle out.

"Did you notice an improvement in quality since Bryan came back"

Yes. The show made a 180 the very episode that Fuller came onboard. The story went from 'this is getting old' to 'OMG THAT WAS AWESOME! (Amazing how one badass Tracy Strauss character can make one episode so memorable)

"and will you return next season for what will likely be the show's last?"

I wish it wasn't so bad. I really, really loved the premise of the show and wish there's more shows with similar premises, but I guess I'll have to wait it out. Or pray hard for heroes to get back on track.

    Fuller's impact

was immediate. It was incredible; "Cold Snap" (the first episode with him back) was far and away the best thing the show had done since season one. As someone who had finally started to warm back up to Heroes after being ever so close to no longer paying attention after the atrocity that was season two, this is incredibly disappointing news.

    They won't kill Syler

I stopped watching because they won't kill Syler off.
