"Clara Sheller" Season 2 video clip update: The girl ain't right
The last time we looked in on the French dramedy Clara Sheller, Gilles had rushed back to Paris after catching Clara in yet another lie. Fortunately, J.P. was there to help him ... pick up the pieces. Will Clara catch them in the act, or will Her Royal Flightiness remain oblivious? Some random thoughts about this clip: 1. I love how they set this up, as flashbacks that Clara is having from the psychiatrist's couch. It's something fresh and different. 2. I love how Gilles basically says "just because I have wood doesn't mean it's for you." 3. Clara passes hot gay neighbors Pascal and Denis on the steps, so i guess Pascal's little tryst with J.P. didn't break them up. I'm glad they're still around, but I think to be fair we should see Gilles and Denis in a hot bedroom scene. 4. Did Clara really think that babushka was going to conceal her identity? It looks like Gilles and J.P. got away with spending the night together, but I have a feeling the lid won't stay on that pot too long, especially with Crazy Clara on the case. They should probably pull back from her looniness a bit, lest she enter into "psycho ex-girlfriend" territory. And I'm even more interested to see what happens with J.P. and Gilles now that they've gone all the way. Will they try to meet clandestinely, or was it just a one-time fling? What in PETA hell?
What in PETA hell was Clara wearing at the beginning? It was like somebody skinned a bunch of Muppets.
I will forever love Gilles for telling her hands off his toy soldier. If she only knew what was going on in the barracks.
That's got to be one weird building to live in. But if I do my math right, I think that to balance the sexual partners in the building, Denis has to sleep with Clara to keep the building from imploding. Poor guy.
The girl doesn't need a weekly shrink, she needs residential help. Then those long suffering men in her life are free to play with each other to relieve stress.
Clara-just a great script
I agree, snicks! The writers have been innovative in the way they have unfolded the story of Clara in season 2. Restricting it to 6 episodes has allowed them to keep story and character development very tight and the quality very high.
We are beginning to really see how complex a character Gilles really is. In episode 2 Gilles and Clara(after the announcement that she is 'pregnant') take a trip to visit his parents in rural France. They are obviously well to do and very conservative and show next to no interest in his success. Clara amusingly comments that in comparison the Ceausceaus look good. He has also completed military service yet everything he does speaks of a person at odds with his background and yearning to be fulfilled in 'unconventional' ways. Clara just doesn't appreciate this.
