"Clara Sheller" video clip update: The sperm whale, Pt. 2

In this clip from French dramedy Clara Sheller, J.P. is getting to know his mother's older gay friend Joseph better. He'll see that he can actually learn a lot from the man whom he insultingly dismissed as a "sperm whale", especially when hot neighbor Pascal makes his decision about whether to continue their affair.

Some random thoughts about this clip:

1. I like Joseph. He has a way of cutting through the bull and telling it exactly like it is. I hope they keep him around.

2. When he told J.P. "this story only gives you another opportunity to feel miserable," I had to laugh.

3. When Pascal told J.P. that Denis was out of town, J.P. grabbed his hand and tried to lead him inside. Wow, someone is presumptuous (and horny)!

4. I hope this isn't the end of line for Pascal and Denis on the show. They brought a certain "Je ne sais quoi" (translated, it means ... well, I don't know what, but it's French).

5. I love at the end when Joseph asks about J.P.'s "special friend", and J.P. looks away deep in contemplation. Who could he be thinking of? Hmm ...

Why does J.P. keep involving himself in relationships that are doomed? Does anyone else think he should have just settled down with the juggling hobo-sexual from the first season?

    Joseph Is Love

I loved the juggling juggling hobo-sexual and I just thought JP couldn't just be in the moment and be happy and see where it was going to go.  Sigh...

Seems JP is afraid for anything that is too real or has the potential to challenge him and make him care or change.

He's had every kind of boyfriend at this point so it's clearly not about his being too picky.

Just plain old fear of getting what he actually wants.

He didn't even put up a fight for Gilles in the past because it was much easier and safer to be the "injured party" then admit his real feelings for Gilles and Clara and send Clara on her way (something Gilles seemed prepared at the time to do)

    Sigh again...

Every gay/lesbo needs a Joseph/Josephine to give them what's for, to understand, to knock us out of our own way.

Clara used to be an entertaining hot mess but now, she's just awesomely annoying. I want JP and Gilles to end up together.   I believe that Gilles is the love of JP's life and isn't it a bitch that in order to find happiness, he has to trample on Clara's... Then again. I remember that Clara didn't think about JP when she took up with Giles before.  It's just fair, isn't it?

    that was sooo sad...

in all levels.... i'm sad for joseph... sad for dennis... and sad (but want to hit him in the head) for j.p.... and i am even sad for gilles even when he's not in the picture.... i wish that j.p. would have the guts to accept happiness in his life by stealing gilles away from the b**ch.  beautiful show... i'm glad that we have these shows from france (clara) and britain (river city) that make up for the lack of gay visibility from germany (ollian - for now, i hope) and here in the states.

    Yep I think (Bert?)

I liked the hobo too. He certainly have made life with Clara and JP interesting!

    The support cast is fantastic

Season 2 has been that much better because of the inclusion of an exceptional support cast and none is better than Patrick Bouchitey(Joseph). Finally JP has someone he can speak to about life, love and the difficulty of finding his true companion.

darcolover55 says it best about JP...."Just plain old fear of getting what he actually wants" is preventing him from finding his companion(Gilles) and Joseph is the one to point out the truth, no doubt from his own painful experience.
