Color Me Gayy: Help us pick a name for our fantasy gay boyband!

As you may have heard, there's a rumor (actually, strong possibility probability) that New Kids on The Block singer Jonathan Knight (above) is gay.

If it's true, he would join a growing list of former boybanders who've come out of the closet. In fact, as our pal John Polly at NewNowNext keenly pointed out, it's almost enough to form our own band! Let's take a look at some likely prospects, and help us figure out the perfect name!

Lance Bass

Lance Bass is a former member of N*SYNC and the best known out former boybander. He may feel he deserves star billing in this band, but I don't recall ever seeing him actually ... singing.

Stephen Gately

Stephen Gately is in the Irish band Boyzone. They recently reunited, but I'm sure we can find some way to coax him into our band (there must be a gay male version of Penny Lane out there somewhere).

Kevin McDaid, Mark Feehily

We get a two-fer with Kevin McDaid and Mark Feehily. Kevin is a former member of boyband V, and Mark is in Irish group Westlife. They're also madly in love and living together, which may present a problem if just one of them is asked to join, so it looks like they're a package deal.

Andrew Kinlochan

Andrew Kinlochan may be the least known of these guys, but he actually came out before any of them. In 2003 he was in the now-defunct boyband Phixx, but the band met with limited success in the UK (possibly owing to its fabulously awful name).

Well, we've got six guys, so we may have to pare it down. Maybe we can have a sing-off (or wet briefs contest) to determine who makes the cut.

Who would you choose, and most importantly, what would you name the official AfterElton.com boyband?

    With Six You Get Eggroll

No, seriously, six members in a boyband is fine--the more the merrier. Hey, that could be their first single: "The More The Merrier"....

The first nom de band that struck me is Boystown--honors both their boyband heritage and the great gay section of Chicago--and then they could do covers of "If You Leave Me Now" and "Will You Still Love Me?"

    Hmmm...

Boyz in the Band has potential and gives props to the ground-breaking movie!

    Umm...

It was actually a ground-breaking play before becoming a ground-breaking movie. (I'm a theatre major, so I just had to jump in with that :P)

    So, in this boy band...

would the rumor be that one of them is actually straight?

As for a band name, I like The Naked Boys Band.  Wait, that's already taken.  Damn, kids...

    HOW ABOUT CALLING THEM...

OLD QUEENS ON THE BLOCK???   Is that to catty???  If we're going to decinde on a name for these six gentlemen at this age it should be something that can be recognized with and without being a statement....I think just "G", it says what needs to be said and leaves enough open for wild interpretation.....

    Seriously

Old Queens on the Block is pretty funny, and yes, too catty, but "G" is actually perfect. The best suggestion yet. Of course, it would probably be spelled G* or something. Gotta have the superfluous punctuation, since you can't actually spell "G" incorrectly. Isn't that one of the rules?

    Boybands redux

Pick 4 of them in a reality show competition and call the band 4BoysOnly or Dream On (fangirls). Elton John can write them a song. Also, some credits should go to Stephen Gately for setting off a trend in boybanders coming out almost 10 years ago when he came out on Jun 16, 1999.

If you can buy the rights from Paul Williams!  Barring that, the Winchesters.  If you've been following "Supernatural," you know what I mean.  Or just go for the obvious: The Boys in the Band.

    "The mountain has wings."

    Immortal Minority

Homosexuals will always be in the minority compared to heterosexuals, but we would be impossible to eliminate since we show up in every racial, cultural and religious group (even animals, so technically humans could die out and there would still be homosexuals in the world)

    Got my Phixx for today...

I just watched the videos for "Hold on Me," "Love Revolution," and "Wild Boys."  Give me a minute to pick my jaw up off the floor and five minutes 30 seconds to do one other thing, then I'll try to think of some band names.

Here's another member to join the band....

Ross Anthony, former member of Bro'Sis, a german band, and last years king of the jungle. He was the winner of the german version of 'I'm a celebrity ... Get me out of here'

He's married to opera singer Paul Reeves.

Marci X and Josie & the

Marci X and Josie & the Pussycats did the whole gay boy band thing but I'd like a nod to Gravitation. Maybe the name of its 2/3 gay band Bad Luck? The show's OP "I want new world"?
