Ellen chats with Adam Lambert about ... underwear and makeup tips?Ellen DeGeneres usually doesn't interview the American Idol runner-up, but on Friday's show she made an exception and called Adam Lambert to offer congratulations and support. So what did the Queen of Daytime and the guy who sang with Queen chat about? They discuss Kris Allen's allegedly surprising win, Ellen brand underwear, and how interesting it will be next season when every guy will show up for the American Idol auditions in full glamrock makeup. Ellen also tries to shill Adam her Covergirl eyeliner, but it's all for naught ...
According to The Weekly World News, Adam is being courted by Revlon to be their new spokesperson: A Revlon spokesperson said, "We believe he will be the hip new face that would appeal to the young and fabulous and artistic emo boys alike." Several church groups are calling for a boycott of American Idol and Revlon. One Alabama pastor was quoted as saying, "If we allow our young people to idolize this man, he will turn them all homosexual and our country will die out in a generation or two!" When sought for response by reporters, Lambert said, "Oh honey, I ain’t that good!" Being The Weekly World News, there is a possibility that none of that actually happened, but a cosmetics company would probably have a goldmine with a "Glambert" line. What do you think? ^ true or not, you better believe someone out there really does believe this. maybe the phelps family....
GLAMBERT LINE FOR THE WIN
He actually has beautiful skin (folks keep saying he's got pockmarks) but if you look at some of the early episodes of the show where he's not wearing the stage makeup (which he never seems to wear when he's not on stage, not even the eyeliner) he's really really fair skinned and completely covered in freckles. Even his lips are freckled.
I think sometimes someone who's that heavily freckled can give th appearance of having bad skin on camera.
For the longest time I thought he had chapped lips because I didn't know that he sometimes wears tinted lip balm and sometimes he doesn't.
Surprisingly the American Idol official page has a whole section for his Beauty Secrets that talks about the makeup artists choices for each of his looks and how they treat his skin.
I know sometimes there's like a generational thing that just doesn't allow some men to ever think men wearing makeup is a good thing.
But EMO is really the look for a lot of rockers and has been for like ten years now and it has nothing to do with sexuality. Nine In Nails, Greenday, Fallout Boy, etc if you look at the last 10 years of mainstream and alternative rock, black nail polish, eye liner, crazy hair cuts, the whole look is very cool and not actually unsual at all.
Most of the teens and tweens and college kids know this and don't really think the makeup thing is an issue at all (even the disney kids)
He is much more contemporary Emo than he is strickly glamrock or 80s hairband.
GLAMBERT could a great makeup line and he'd be an awesome spokesperson.
I feel like he actually gives off a really masculine energy along with the glam look and that's part of what makes him so appealing to me. The melding of sexiness the genderqueer feel rather than a "drag" feel.
Some folks are acting like he's walking around in full on cabaret stage makeup just to go get milk which really isn't true from what I've seen of a lot of his interviews.
"Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." (Dorothy Parker)
support it!
"Oh honey, I ain’t that good!"
He has thousands of teenage girls praying that he and Kris Allen are getting it on, and wishing for sex changes themselves, so maybe he is that good.
At this point the fan girls would be balling their eyes out if he came out as *not* gay. He's like the anti-Clay.
I haven't worn eyeliner since college, but - for Adam - I would at least buy it and give it to my buddies as Christmas presents.
