"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Did we miss an episode?

There isn't much to this short Forbidden Love clip, aside from the adorably goofy faces that Olli and Christian keep making, and the fact that Lydia Lunch is leaving town, but it's notable for what it doesn't include, namely any fallout from the beating Olli received at the hands of Axel.

Kylie fans?

Aside from a lone band-aid, and a feeble "don't hug me too hard", you'd never know that Olli was just beaten to an inch of his life. And Christian (who I thought would be Hulk smashing the town looking for Alex), seems to have forgotten all about it (unless he's shell-shocked, or just biding his time planning his revenge).

What do you think? Are we making too much of our bloodthirsty desire for Christian to get immediate revenge? If the show decides not to make an issue out of the beating, will you be comfortable with that?

You can see today's clip after the break, and thanks to Nanna and the Gays of Daytime.

    Meh

Boring episode this time. I am still lost about what happened between Judith and Lydia, but oh well, doesnt seem much interesting either.

    Recap

Judith knew that Lydia's boyfriend slept with Lydia's mother, but she didn't tell anyone.  This is also why Fabian, who is Lydia's brother, dumped Judith, because he said that he couldn't trust her.  BTW, Lydia's boyfriend is Sebastian, who is Rebecca's brother.

    Thanks

    Puzzled

This was a very cute episode, if you take it out of context, I love how comfortable they are with each other.

I must admit I was puzzled by the complete lack of consecuences from the bashing. I know there is more drama latter on, but I was expecting a little more tension. Up to this point, Ive thought Ollians story had been pretty realistic.

I mean, soapwise, it would have been nice to delve into Christians guilt or Ollies resentment toward the troglodite, I dont know, something. It was resolved too quickly, too perfect. They must be watching ATWT.

Not wanting to give anything away...

...but there's a good reason this is being played out as 'Oh, everything is SO A-okl' right now.

    You will see.

    The episode makes sense.

Well, in the last episode Gregor and Christian were speaking with the police and they mentioned something about court. So I think Axel is in jail or the police are in pursuit. There wouldn't be a reason for Christian and Ollie to go after Axel while the police are going after him. It would be just as ridiculus as Noah flying to New York to find Ameera. (And didn't Noah find her rather quickly for so little information.) I am tired of watching shows where everyday citizens solve crimes instead of contacting the authorities. Its so impractical and unrealistic.

Though I must admit, Ollian does seem a little too content. They should at least be wondering if the police caught him yet. Maybe they talked about it off-screen.

    Uh-oh, do I sense a future

Uh-oh, do I sense a future tension brewing?

I too must admit that I was a little bit puzzled as to why Christian didn't go on a murderous rampage right away, but you never know.

"The doctor promised that the [electroshock] treatment would fry the fairy clean out of him. All it did was make him go bonkers every time he heard the electric guitar."

    I think this is very

I think this is very realistically written. Like I said in a earlier post, that wanting to get back to a feeling of being 'normal' and like 'before' is what we are seeing in Olli...and Christian is obliging. Christian is feeling overwhelming guilt towards what happened to Olli, so will do anything to accommdate him right now. I actually find it realistic the way it is playing out...most people would actually go to the police first, not take the law into their own hands. And how many times have we seen on the news victims who refuse to name their agressors. It really is very common

I think many fans are suprised if not disappointed in the 'calmness' of Christians reaction because we are so use to seeing a man who does have a temper, is passionate and takes no bull.  So the fact that he seems too calm over his 'big love' getting the crap beat out of him from his nemises just doesn't ring true for many. And that is understandable. Personally, I think that Christian's behavior is well within the context of his character. This is a person who has a very stoic exterior to him. He is hurting deeply about what happened, but can and will keep his true feelings buried for the sake of Olli. But this will only last for so long, because all that hurt and anger is going to fester then explode later in the future.

We must all remember we are not dealing with ATWT writers here, these are VL writers and producers who have not faultered yet in their portrayal of the excellent Olli and Christian relationship. You just know this is the tip of the iceberg for what is to come.  But we must have patience, because as Wolfi said...this is all for a reason.

I think your are partly right

Christian feels guilty and Ollie might not want to talk about it. That is actually natural. And there might be a lot going on between them. But it doesnt feel realistic because we are not seeing it. Im sure in our heads we can see one of them trying to talk about it and the other saying to drop it because hes not ready; or Christian saying how scared he was of loosing Ollie. Simple things that happen between a couple. We shouldnt have to see it in our minds.

Ive seen a lot of post saying "its happening off screen", well this is a dramatic show, it should not be happening off screen, we should be able to see it. I wasnt expecting either of them to turn into The Punisher, thats what the police are for, and it was clear they took that route, not the badass one. But I was expecting to see some consecuences between the two of them.

In the last two episodes, Ollie might as well have fallen down a lattter for all we know. There is no trace of such a dramatic even like the one he went trough, physically and mentally. Neither of them seem affected. That really doesnt feel realistic to me.

Most of us know that the big drama is yet to come, but I still would have liked to see their relationship challenged or asserted in some way like in a normal relationship. And actually see it.

I agree totally! I don't want drama, I don't want Christian to cut Axel in million little pieces, I don't want revenge (Christian is above that!!), but yesterday it just did not feel right. Like someone else said, Olli looked far too content! I was attacked once - 100 times less badly than Olli, but I was shaking several days following the attack (I had a small injury at the wrist too) and was a bit paranoid when I had to leave the house.

The only explanation I have is that Olli is in total denial. But why would Christian be? Like I said, I don't want Christian to go on a murderous revenge trip to find Axel, but he should be hurt, angry, upset, furious, worried... or something. Yesterday we saw them lying on the couch and then happily joking with Lydia during her farewell.. All a bit odd if you ask me.

Oh and THANK YOU snicks for mentioning that band-aid! I've been saying this several times already (not necessarily on AE), but how can all the injuries with VL characters be only treated with one single, stupid band-aid?! I'm sure Olli had stitches.. you don't cover stitches with that kind of band-aid. Next time you remove it, you rip open the wound again.. *grrr*

    my two cents...

i really didn't like how Vl went there with the oh so common gay bashing storyline. i was kinda disappointed that they went to such a cliche.... but.... with how things played up until now i find it really refreshing to see that they didn't dwell on it. A lot of viewers wanted to see drama. i'm just sooo happy that they focused more on showing olli and christian being a normal couple and still going strong than get overy dramatic about the situation - like Christian going ballistic or Olli having paranoia, or Ollian having relationship issues because of it... there are endless negative possibilities. furthermore, we also have to remember that this is not the Oliver and Christina Show.... we are so lucky if we even get a few minutes of Ollian per day per week... so i'd rather see them happy for now than create so much tension and negativity leading up to the developments come i think 3rd or 4th week of august...

the developments in the investigation would be mentioned in today's episode but it would be just in passing.... i'm happy they did not dwell on it, too.... BUT... like i said, they eventually would... things would get complicated... so hold your horses... enjoy the calmness of the situation... things would not look good for long...

love today's episode (thursday's ep - not the one above)- they are soooo cute... olli is still hurting but all is well for Olli and Christian.... for now.

    agree with you

Totally agree with you. Think there will be more tension scene with our two cutties (maybe the team has already known a lot of non-germanic viewers from youtube begin to watch it and give their opinions and maybe that will influen them. *g*). Enjoy the calm before the storm and enjoy the olympic games lol (there will be less episodes during this period i suppose)
