"Forbidden Love" video clip update: Dill weed's revenge
On this clip from Forbidden Love, Olli is still smarting from Aunt Charlie's rejection of his Ibiza-inspired improvements to the bar, but with the encouragement of Christian, is his luck about to change? Some random thoughts about this clip: 1. That damn sweater vest again. 2. The brothers Mann got on my nerves when they were so dismissive of Olli's plans. When he said "I have experience catering," they smirked and gave each other a look like "Oh, Lucy wants to be in the show again." Not cool! 3. When Gregor asked "why don't you listen to Christian for once?" I thought Olli should have responded with "when you learn how to have a stable relationship, then you can give advice like that." 4. It was really sweet when Olli said "I'm such a dill weed," and Christian more-or-less responded, "yes, but you're my dill weed." Awwww! So, it looks like Olli has a new career. Well, at least this might keep the guys in the picture for a while. And yes, it might not be the most scintillating storyline, but at least it's halfway believable, and not something totally contrived like oh ... I don't know, a "murder-mystery". and the kiss...
I loved this episode. There
I loved this episode. There was plenty of Ollian time.
First...let me agree with you on that awful cardigan Olli iwas wearing. Let's hope this episode was the last we see of it.
I too caught that dimissive look Christian and Gregor gave each other when Olli made his preposal. but loved when Olli came right back at them with pointing out just how bad things are at Nolimits. Business is pretty bad at the moment, so who is Gregor to comment on how to run a sucessful business. Nolimits is on the verg of going bankrupt.
Loved that sweet moment between Ollian when Olli said to Christian he more or less picked a failure for a boyfriend, and then Christian made Olli know he would love him no matter what, just the way he is. That was so sweet.
I'm really looking forward to this storyline, epsecially with Gregor walking on dangerous territory with money that he owes to certain people because of his helicopter obsession.
And word...to no Sherlock type murder-mystery solving Ollian storyline.
Nice ep
Mopey Olli is just so darn adorable!
I must confess... I *love* mopey Olli! Happy Olli is great and all but mopey Olli is even better.
Thanks to Nanna for the subs as usual. I wonder if "dill weed" is a literal translation? :)
He says "Gurke" which means
He says "Gurke" which means cucumber or pickle/gherkin in German. It doesn't have any phallic connotation in German though.
I think I remember hearing it used the way English speakers use "lemon" to refer to a run down car.
they're sweet
#3 I took another way
#3 I took another way. I did not see Gregor as being dismissive of the idea of Olli being a partner when he said to listen to Christian. I thought that Gregor was only telling Olli to listen to Christian about sleeping on the idea for a day or two before rushing into anything and not his being unsupportive of Olli.
Drat. If Olli won't be working for Aunt Charlie anymore that means no more shots of sexy waiter Olli :(
Did all of this really happen in one episode ? Seems a bit rushed for ones life dream to stated, have a roadblock come up, and then realized at the end. Really could have been stretched out for a few days at least. Being turned downed by the bank one day, seeing and asking Charlie another, and then a couple of days later resolved. But hey, its a soap after all.
Yes, this is a single
Yes, this is a single episode, the one from last Friday (ep number 3339).
I was bugged that it was so rushed. To me it made Olli look a bit melodramatic rather than pitiful because he won't even allow people to sleep on it for even just a day or two which to me is a completely reasonable demand before a transaction like this. That effect wouldn't have been there as much if it had taken place over several days.
When he was all "Why do things never work out for me, this can't be a coincidence anymore!" I felt tempted to say "Shesh maybe it has something to do with your impatience and somewhat lacking presentation and argumentation skills".
I don't know how things are in the US, but I'm pretty sure my bank would tell me to go eff myself too if I just asked them fro 30.000 Euro on the phone and unlike Olli I actually have securities.
Overall it Olli was still very cute and it was great to see his loved ones being there to catch him.
Olli on VL Last Week
No, it played out over two eps. On Thrusday and Friday.
I agree it's a bit rushed. But as we know, if this were Oakdale, NoLimits would have been completely remodeled by today.
When I watched Ivan's German-only vid of this on Friday, I was concerned about Christian's body language towards Olli in NoLimits. It seemed very dismissive. With the english subs, that reaction is softened to being one to try to slow Olli down. Heck, I would too considering how he and Stella ambushed Charlie on Thursday with the whole "cool club" idea. Shock and Awe was the wrong approach.
This specific clip was just
This specific clip was just on one episode: Friday's. So everything presented in this clip did indeed take place in just one episode.
The whole storyline, consisting of this clip and previous one took place on two days, Friday's show for this clip, Thursday's show for the previous clip ("Olli's big plans").
Technically the whole story also included Christian's argument with Gregor on Tuesday/Wednesday where Christian accused Gregor of no longer having enough passion for his job and Gregor agreed and first voiced his desire to sell the No Limits but it wasn't translated (and technically also not that interesting either other than giving Gregor a chance to state his reasons for wanting to sell).
in christian's defense
i think i would be rolling my eyes a bit if my sig. other said 'i am buying a bar TODAY.' Especially if thats the first i ever heard of it. Actually, scratch that, I would be like, 'what the heck are you doing?' Buying a business is something for olli to start thinking about and planning for, and doing research on, but just to jump on some ship that comes sailing by without thinking about what kind of dedication and consequences that action is going to have is rediculous. So i can understand some 'dismissiveness' on Christian's part. It seems like Olli is throwing a pity party and channeling Veruca Salt (I WANT IT NOW) because he's feeling bored at work. Maybe he should sit Charlie down and tell her that he's not feeling challenged and would like some more responsibility at work - that would be a start, and I'm sure she'd take him seriously and consider his ideas...
