Meet Your Gay of the Week: Oliver Fish!

Oliver Fish nabs the crown again, garnering 38% of the vote for his fiery coming-out declaration in front of protesters and cameras on One Life to Live.

In second place is his paramour Kyle Lewis, who earned 29% for making his own declaration ... of love.

Trailing in third is Sam and Dan from The Amazing Race, who wore clingy long underwear and won the week's race, but could only manage 17% in the face of the Kish juggernaut.

Right behind them with 16% was Modern Family's Mitchell, who proved he still has all the right moves.

Congrats to Oliver, who's getting quite accustomed to wearing the crown. Come back next Thursday to see if he's nominated again, or if four new contenders will vie for the top spot.

    Congrats to Ollie

But also to Scott for bringing him to life.

Why did you drop the Gay of the Week from the column on the left where the Flying Monkey logo and the Photo Galleries link are? I always enjoyed the little man reigning in his crown greeting me every time I logged on. Any chance you can find the room to squeeze him back in?

    Yes, I'm wondering too.

    Same.

OK, I really hoped that the scores would be closer between Kyle and Oliver.. but it's all good. I couldn't decide who to vote for between the two, so I looked at the results first and saw that Kyle was behind Oliver (so to speak) and I voted for Kyle. But I love them both to bits!

    Ollie

Wonder of Dr. Lewis and Officer Fish had pet names for each other like "Kylie" and "Ollie" back in the day?  :o)

    Gay of the Week.

Love Oliver, so I'm happy. But I still say that this should go to both Fish and Kyle. They go together like peanut butter and chocolate; each great, but so much better together.

Here's to next week, and seeing our boys on their first official date. And we better get an honest to goodness love scene as well.

    I think...

I think I hold a torch for Oliver just as much as he held one for Kyle!! He's just soooo dreamy...unfortunately, he's a fictional character :-( boooo!

    This was a very difficult

This was a very difficult vote.  Kyle and his FUB have both won as far as I'm concerned!

    What on earth

    Is a FUB?
    jsg03jd's picture

    A FUB...

...is an ingenious term snicks coined in honor of Officer Oliver in one of the liveblogs of OLTL:

    * FUB - A rare combination of Fish and Cuddly Bear Cub. FUB's are docile, quiet creatures unless provoked. Things to avoid - Questioning the FUB's sexuality, trying to escape his custody, and trying to steal his soulmate.

    Ah thanks!

Though the thought of Oliver as a bear cub puts a damper on my ardour!

    OLIVER AND KYLE TOGETHER

I was so very happy to see Oliver (Scott) win the title again.  It was a very difficult choice between him and Kyle (Brett) as both provided outstanding performances this week on One Life to Live.  Oliver, in his angered heart wrenching speech to the protesters came as somewhat a surprise to the viewer, but you could tell it was from the heart as any Gay person would feel faced with a similar situation.  His standing up for himself and his community the way he did, certainly endeared him and his character to the audience.  As for Kyle, you could plainly see the inner struggles he was coping with at the ceremony.  It was so difficult for him to tell Nick that he could not go through with this ceremony and that he did not love Nick.  And as he made his way back to Oliver to plead giving each other another shot, especially in a heavy breath, made the story so believeable and real.  The other exceptionally nice touch was Roxy's always believing in the guys being together, being there and supporting them at the ceremony, giving that one protester a big smack where she lived, and of course the final scene where Oliver and Kyle kissed amid all the hugs and adoration from Roxy and their friends.  I sure hope One Life to Live will keep this story going, it is a very good representation and it presents Gay life in a very positive light!

    One Life to Live

I must have missed the news on One Life to Live. Was it on camera that he came out? You would have thought that this would have been bigger news. We will be back next week to see who wins. casino online
