"Hollyoaks" video clip (5/19): The "After it hits the fan" update
Today's episode of Hollyoaks starts off with a couple of awkward scenes of Kieron and his roommate Niall trying to avoid the big pink Thorn Bird in the house (if you remember, Niall and Steph caught Kieron and John Paul coming out of the shower together). Finally, they can avoid it no longer, and Niall sums up his mindset with this nugget: "He didn't force himself on you, did he? Okay, J.P. weighs about 85 pounds, so the only thing he's forcing himself on would be a department store mannequin, and besides, he saw them coming out of the shower together, laughing and frolicking.
J.P. has a very sweet talk with Steph, in which he admits he loves Kieron, and comes clean to Kris (who actually is spot-on in his assessment of the situation). We then return to a more reasonable sounding Niall, as he and Kieron come to terms with what happened, and it's time for Kieron to unleash his own howler: "I'm a priest, I have a faith that I live by, that I love, that I have dedicated my life to. I have taken a vow of celibacy, so I'm aware of how hypocritical this may look.". Really, Father Obvious? He makes for up it, though, when Niall asks him why he's doing it, and Kieron says "because I love him". Finally, J.P. and Kieron talk things through, and it looks like everything is going well, until Mercedes sticks her diva nose in their business. Now that the truth is out, it's sure to have major ramifications for everyone, especially Kieron. I've got a bad feeling that this is not going to end well, but at least Hollyoaks has had the guts to show us a gay relationship we haven't seen before, and even though a lot people disagree with me, I think they should be applauded for it (but it would be nice if J.P. went in search of a man who was attainable for a change). I'm rooting for this relationship to work. And BOOOOO to the people who say that JP has fallen for another unattainable guy. You can't help when and whom you fall in love with...it's a fantastic dynamic and Hollyoaks has done a very good job catching the tension and the duality.

I think is great that they decided to explore this kind relationship, my only worry was with the way the were going to portray JP on this. They have done very well so far, its been kindo of romantic and natural.
Nialls comment its a little influenced by two things: the reputation that JP gained after the Craig mess, which has been mentioned a few times and the fact that Niall has a bone to pick with his little bro, at least thats what he feels.
Its interesting to me that Niall seems very casual about it, think it has to do with the fact he really likes Kieron as a buddy and, inspite of himself, he likes John Paul. But we will see. Actually, I would be more worried about Mercedes knowing, that was an interesting choice of action. I understand why Kieron gets mad.
BTW. Love title of the post. That comment made me laugh hard over the weekend.

Well, its about to hit the
You just know nothing go
You just know nothing good is going to come out of a priest having an affair with a teenager. But my major gripe, apart from not being a fan of Kieron and John Paul together is...why from the two years since John Paul was introduced into HollyOaks does he have to suffer so? From the hassle he received at school when he came out, to the not so welcoming embrace of his sister Mercedes, and then the heartbreak of Craig. And now we have what can only be described has the ultimate devastation for John Paul regarding Kieron. I know this is a SOAP, but most all the characters on the show have had some little time slot where they were happy for a few months. Poor John Paul..it's has though a dark cloud follows him where ever he goes.
Watching todays clip made
Watching todays clip made me think of your point. I was one of those who was hopefull that this relationship would work and to be honest I still am. Because I want to see him happy. You have to take into account that this arc began as James Sutton contract was about to expire and that he had expressed interest in doing something else.
The thing is that the JP/Craig arc was so popular, that ever since since it ended, fans have wanted the sunset ending for these two. I think that is the reason Sutton stayed, hence Kieron has to get out of the picture. So JPs heart will probably get broken again. I dont think they are deliberatly making him suffer, I think they might be begining to set that up. But Im still hoping.
kieron's future/ john paul's heartbreak
I agree with the thought that it's unfortunate that John Paul has to face so much heartbreak. I understand drama, but the poor guy doesn't get a break!
