"Hollyoaks" video clip update: Let's blow this popsicle stand!
*Note - Title is not a euphemism. Today's Hollyoaks clip begins with John Paul and Kieron making plans...to leave Hollyoaks! Kieron is unsure, though. He doesn't want J.P. to leave without telling his family (especially his mother) goodbye, and asks J.P. for the umpteenth time if this is really what he wants. Kieron: I just can't get my head around you being willing to give up your family for me. J.P.: Why? I know what you've given up for me. Um ... yeah, one of you is giving up God, the other one ... the McQueen family. I guess that's even. They pack their things and get all the way to the train stop, when J.P. gets a phone call informing him that his very pregnant sister Tina has "fallen" down some stairs, and has been rushed to the hospital. Their plans are therefore put on hold as J.P. leaves for the hospital, and Kieron brings their stuff back to the flat. The reason I put "fallen" in quotes is because it was actually Niall who pushed Tina down the steps, meaning he can cross #6 off his "destroy the McQueens!" to-do list. I fully expect to see Niall having a Dynasty-esque mud fight with Kieron before this is all over ... preferably naked. As J.P. goes to the hospital, Kieron runs into violent delinquent Ste, who is an abusive thug, but is trashy hot in a Kevin Federline sort of way (please don't tell anyone I said that). J.P. walks into the hospital and is reunited with his mother, and for the moment, they're a family again. Actually, having the entire McQueen family in the same room illuminates how utterly perfect the casting for this show is. There wasn't a moment that I did not believe that these people weren't a real family. A horribly dysfunctional family, but when the chips are down, they come together (I can totally see them as a Ma Barker style 1930's era family). The rest is too good to spoil, so I'll leave it to you, but it involves more evil Niall machinations, Ste stripping (while Kieron watches), and a shocking finale. You can see the clip after the break, and be sure to come back for more Hollyoaks updates. Submitted by on Wed, 2008-07-02 10:46. |

I hate Niall, but love reading your recaps.
It's official: Niall makes my skin crawl. He IS the 'master manipulative freak' that's tearing the McQueen's apart. Kudos to Barry and Bryan K. for bringing to life and creating such a character that has brought out this type of reaction within me. Usually soap opera villians are characters that you 'love to hate', but Niall actually makes me see red. I really hope that James/JP is STILL on the show for Niall's reveal. He's a McQueen (first and foremost) and he should be there for it....
Aahahah. I can just see them all trying to fit into their Ford, going after Niall with their guns cocked and loaded.
Love me less, but love me a long time - Les Chansons D'Amour
Translations please!
After Kieron tells Ste that Tina got pushed down the stairs, the rest of the conversation up to "More to be pitied, I suppose" is unintelligible to me.
I was going to say the same thing
This is like listening to a Talk Show hosted by Christopher Hitchens and William Buckley. We would need subtitles
Watch enough of the clips on You Tube
Watch enough of the clips on You Tube and you get the hang of listening to these guys. After Keiron tells Ste Tina got pushed, this is the exchange:
S: "What?"
K: "Some lad called Fletch"
S: "Fletch wouldn't hurt a fly."
K: "Even for drugs?"
S: "He's a little scrote. He's not capable of that."
K: "Assaluting a pregnant woman, don't get much lower than that does it?"
S: "No, not really."
The natural was the lines are written is one of the things I like about Hollyoaks. Took a while to catch some of the phrases and the slang, but it adds alot.
Manchester
Yep, it takes a while to understand their strong accents, but you get used to it.
I've seen the musical 'Never forget' in London and was really glad that I've been following Hollyoaks because otherwise I would have had problems to understand half of what they were saying on stage. Exactly the same accent.
I want Keiron to kick Niall's ass
I know the minute we get some resolution and stability for JP James is leaving, but I want his character to be happy. Can't wait to see how Craig's return will be handled. Fingers crossed that we are not disappointed.
Although a huge chunk of the show will be missing for me when James makes his exit, I hope they give a great storyline to Kris. Our "Cross dressing Belfast boy" needs some airtime too.
Editors: You guys working on getting some time with James, Jake and Guy?
I'm speaking to a certain someone tomorrow morning
Speaking of which...
...sorry to be so impatient...have Jo and Thore had a chance to respond to our questions...I'm chomping at the bit to find out what they have to say!
Yeah, Niall is Evil
I have to second the comment that Niall is a master manipulator. I'm new to Hollyoaks (actually new to the Hollyoaks CLIPS since all I've seen of the show is the clips of the JP/Niall storyline), but it's definitely better than any story I could expect to see here in the States. Niall REALLY knows just what buttons to push to hurt everyone in that family, doesn't he? I have a hard time thinking of any character that I like less.
So... I guess Kieron's leaving is the beginning of the end for JP. That story was way too short for me and even though I haven't seen much of Hollyoaks, I'll be sorry to see him go.
Don't worry Keven. Kieron's
More HO
I 2nd this...
I 2nd this. Keven, if you haven't had a chance to check out the JP/Craig clips, I hope when you have the opportunity that you'll check them out. JP and Craig's story began back in September 2006 and it contains a lot of drama, angst and heartwarming as well as heartwrenching scenes. It's such an amazing storyline and is not to be missed!
"I know what you've given
"I know what you've given up for me." well it does not sound as a man who follows his true love. i don't want kieron to be hurt but jp and craig belongs together.
